Note that this also means no Fantasmic during this period as confirmed
on their park hours/show schedule page for January. The February page
does show Fantasmic resuming 2/1.

A whole heck of a lot! Included is a more "PC" scene where the pirates
were chasing the women (from what I heard)

That's the second best possible news you could have posted. (The best
being, of course, that Disney admits that Fantasmic! was just a horrid
mistake and is ripping it out is selling it for scrap!)

Hurray! A brief (too brief!) peace and quiet respite on the westside...

Patrick,

I think the cheer over the demise of Fantasmic is more for the demise of
the problems it caused. While a lot of people were watching the show in
such a confined space, those of us who weren't thrilled with it could not
move from one end of the park to the other. Remember, people began to
stake out their spots two to three hours in advance, and it usually took 45
minutes for the crowd to move out after the show. The show just didn't
justify the inconvenience it caused to all. They really should have put it
on one of the stages, Lord knows Pochahotas is due for a break. (Sorry
folks, I'm an old classics fan, my niece and nephew like the new.)

lot of people are wililng to fight the crowds to see the show, otherwise
they wouldn't watch it. And I would like to add that FANTASMIC wouldn't
be the same if it didn't take place on the river. Thats wha I was trying
to get across.

So that means from January 6 - January 16 there will be no full-service
restaurants in the park (aside from Club 33)? I wonder how many complaints they
will get when there aren't any open...

One end of the park to the other? I think you exagerate a little. Beyond
access to New Orleans Square and Critter Country, it does not affect
access to the rest of the park. And the 45 minutes is more like 15
minutes. My usual post-Fantasmic strategy is to duck into the lineless
Pirates. When we come out, the waterfront is peaceful. Even for a
closing time Fantasmic, I've never had major problems exiting.

Jason,

Let's hope they get one form every a.d.d.er and r.a.d.per who visits DL
during that time and one from each member of each add.er or r.a.d.p.er's
party.

As a new poster in this NG, but a loooong time Disney fan, and lover of
the fantasmic show I'd have to say sorry it's down I'd hate to see
anyone miss this truly inovative show.

That's all the TV stations know so far... why don't you goto a weather

Th reason the Kodak Kiosk is down for so long is because the entire
Parade route from the hub to the Small World Gate is being completely
redone for Light Magic. The ground is being resurfaced to be concrete
like Main Street, this way floats will no longer sink, or tear up the
asphalt.
Because of this, The Lion King Celebration is also going to be
down until the construction is completed. Through those months the
only BIG entertainment is going to be Hunchback, and Pocahontas on
weekends only, and Cruisin' the Kingdom Cavalcade running seven days a
week, (supposedly).

For one thing, it's our rainy season.... today and tomorrow for
example. When not raining though, you can expect sunny and temps in
the 60's to 70's during the day, down into the 50's and 40's at night.
Bring something warm to wear for when the sun goes down. Lockers are
$1 per entry and a good place to store the evening wear.

This is one of the most variable times of the year weather-wise.
Nobody can predict weather on the west coast more than about three
days in advance with accuracy. I was at DL on Saturday 12/7 and Sunday
12/8. Both days were sunny and about 72 degrees. We removed our
sweatshirts around 10:00 am. Temperatures dropped rapidly around dusk
and were quite chilly (50s, but that's chilly if you're from Southern
California!) along the river during Fantasmic.

Fanatasmic has it's problems but are they really ending it? I know last
time I saw it they had to restart it 3 times before all the lights would
work properly, but it's still pretty awesome.
