Who, where, when, etc.: Me (Kitty, aka Bashful) forty-mumble-mumble
years old, and my bashful hubby Rocky, fifty-mumble-mumble years old.
This is our 16th trip to WDW, the first being our honeymoon in 1997.
Were DVCers and stayed at our home resort, Boardwalk Villas, in a
studio, from Dec. 5th to Dec. 13th. Im a vegan (I dont eat meat,
dairy or eggs), but DH is not. Were both pretty bashful me being
worse at the one-on-one, and Rocky being worse with crowds. So yes,
were going to the most crowded vacation destination on the planet, with
a plan to meet a bunch of axe murderers for the first time. Clearly we
drank the Kool-Aid.

----------------------------------------------------------------

We woke up at the usual time, this time with my cell phones alarm.
Breakfast in the room, and were off to DHS. We almost always walk to
this park both the Studios and Epcot. Its one of the things we love
most about the Boardwalk.

We headed straight for Toy Story and picked up a Fastpass. They had the
Green Army Men out, entertaining the crowd, and keeping things
organized. I thought it was really cute Disneys brilliant way of
keeping us all in line, but making us think were having fun while they
do it.

Next, after some thought, we decided to face the axe murders again, and
headed for Rock n Roller Coaster. We were still a bit hesitant to
join them, but once Jack showed up, we just sort of got sucked in. I
believe we counted a total of 21 RADPers here. We had fun in line, but
completely lost our group when we left the preshow.

We continued on with everyone to the Tower of Terror, where we did
actually all end up in the same elevator. It was a cute photo almost
wish Id bought it, since its the first time I ever rode with more than
one person I know. I did photograph the photograph, but of course it
doesnt look all that great.

We wandered off that this point, and honestly Im not quite sure where
we went, but we ended up back at the BAH for photos at 11am. (I cant
believe how many of these group photos I ended up in! Though, there are
a couple where Im in back, and the only thing visible is my hat, LOL.)

Next up was lunch. We headed for the Backlot Express, where we both got
tasty sandwiches. Then, Muppet Vision 3D. We talked about what to do
next, and decided to go ahead and use our now active Toy Story FPs,
where, once again, Rocky put me to shame. However, my accuracy is
always better than his. Its one of the reasons I like TSMM over Buzz
I always beat Rocky in accuracy, if not points.

I know there was a TSMM meet at 4:00, but we knew wed never last that
long. Were used to a mid-day break right around now. But, we just had
to brave the park a little bit longer in order to join the cheering
section for Kevin! Yes, a RADPer was going to sing at the American Idol
Experience! It was so much fun watching someone we (sort of) know,
competing in the show! He mentioned RADP in his little video, and of
course, we all went crazy whenever he was on stage! He definitely had
the loudest cheering section. Sadly, though, he didnt stand a chance
against this cute-as-a-button 14-yr-old girl.

By this time, we were totally fried nap time for Rocky and Kitty. In
fact, we even caved and took a boat back to the resort.
We thought about doing the mini-golf meet that night. A part of me
wishes wed gone. But, were really not night owls. It would have gone
on long past our bedtime. And Rockys hip had really been bothering
him. It would have been a fair bit of walking to get there, and then on
our feet for the entire event. (Plus, I totally suck at mini-golf,
LOL.) In the end, we passed. Sorry Laura!

So instead, we decided to head to the Magic Kingdom, and see Wishes.
There were only a handful of nights that we could catch it, and this was
one of only two nights where theyd play at 8pm (instead of 10pm). I
love Wishes. Its one of those things that I would have been
disappointed if I missed.

We arrived in time for Cinderellas Wish, and seeing the castle light up
for the first time was amazing! This is such an amazing thing Disney
has done! I love it!

Next, we went in search of dinner, which turned out to be a bit of an
adventure, but long story short, we ended up at Cosmic Rays, where we
caught Sonny Eclipse while we ate. This has been one of our
traditions, but given my difficulty with food here, that might change.

It was after this that we came across a street sweeper with a special
talent. At first glance, it looked like someone just brushing water
with a broom on the cement, drawing pictures. It couldnt have been
water, though, because it doesnt evaporate quickly enough. This was
the first of two CMs we saw doing this drawing Mickey or Goofy, or
one of the other characters on the ground. It really is amazing to
watch, and one of those little magical moments you just stumble upon.

After this, we found a spot for Wishes, and braved the crowd. It was
truly insane the most crowded we have ever seen the Magic Kingdom. I
was bound and determined to see Wishes, but I paid the price. I had
some trouble getting Rocky back in this park that week, and I dont know
how Ill ever get him to try Wishes again. But Wishes was as wonderful
as ever, I was able to see Tinks flight, and I actually managed to find
a reasonably unobstructed view of the fireworks, near the Plaza restaurant.

Eventually, we made it to the bus stop, and back to the room for the night.

PiC and I did DHS that morning too. I kept looking around for anyone
familiar, but saw none. Had I actually brought a RADP 14 schedule
with me, I would have hunted a meet or two down. But without the
schedule with you, it's futile. I don't think guest relations will
help you on this one...

I never saw the point of being super accurate in a game with unlimited
ammunition. Or plates. Or darts. Or rings. Or pies.

Personally, I think it's the person who can pull the rope faster that
wins... :-)

Don't feel too bad. I think PiC and I were drinking adult beverages
by the pool watching Cars. Going was a possibility until we got
lazy...

Well, the parks just seemed to be crowded this year...

Becoming a Crescent Lake snob I see!

That's great. It sounds like the WDW of the past. Hopefully this is a
sign of things to come.

At that time of night, Ray's and Pecos Bill are usually the only places
open. I really *really* wish they would put some better food choices in
the MK. Even if they just duplicated Sunshine Seasons there I'd be happy!

I saw this, too. He was drawing on the sidewalk between the
Adventureland restrooms. I think it was water, but with the high
humidity, it does take longer to evaporate. Here are my photos:

I'd never heard of this before. Thanks for the photos, Rodney.
I like these unexpected entertainment events, like the Jammitors,
who look like maintenance men but put on a great musical show.

You would have fit right in - most all of us totally suck at
mini-golf. :-) But you're forgiven, since you showed up at the
AllEars meet on Saturday! Otherwise you'd have been in BIG trouble,
missy! :-)

Hmmm... I still say that if I can continue to improve my accuracy,
eventually I'll be able to even up the score a bit. (Okay, maybe I'm a
bit of a dreamer, but I'm hanging onto that thought.)

I still think Disney is the best. I find something new and really
awesome every trip!

Yup - that's it! It's definitely not water, though. Rocky observed
some guy sticking his finger in the bucket and giving it a taste. The
face he made pretty clearly demonstrated that it wasn't just water.
(That was definitely one of those "the stupidity of guests never ceases
to amaze us" moments.)

OK, I'm not a germophobe, and I have been known to taste things out of
curiosity (canned cat food, for example), but I am not going to taste
dirty mop bucket water, no matter what! Still, knowing that this is a
"setup" sort of ruins the magic a bit. I mean, all this time, I just
figured this was a custodial CM who happened to have a little talent for
drawing with his broom and was enhancing our magical Disney experience,
sort of like the way some of the bus drivers used to tell jokes and
trivia and such. Now I find out he's really "streetmosphere". Oh well,
at least it is entertainment.
