For those of you with experience, is there much of a difference between
the usual beautiful Epcot landscaping and the displays during the
festival? I know the festival offers several presentations and
learning opportunities that they don't normally have, but visually is
there that much difference?

Thanks in advance for any information!

Not a LOT of difference, but some nice topiary. Don't miss the
butterfly garden. Lots of little differences all over. A very nice
time to go. We were there last year and wil be there 5/3-5/8 this year.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. We met up with another couple that were
never there in May and they thought it was dramatically different. The
plants that were shaped as animals or characters were in color instead of
the usual green. Plants everywhere. The roses are in bloom. It's very nice.
We go for a visit every May and will this year as well.

We love the Flower and Garden Festival, the landscaping is a step about the
norm... here are links to our pictures from the last two years...

I go for the festival every year. Years ago it was more elaborate, but
they choose a different theme each year, so there's always something new
and special. I have some photos on my site, interspersed with the other
shots. I've added the Flower Power concerts to what I look forward to
now. Look into them, especially if you're over 35.

One of the years we went there were garden shop vendors from around the
country, set up in tents, near the roses..it was nice...many unique things.

Barring something unforeseen... we are planning a day trip near the
beginning... a longer trip close to the end... school will be out then and
our anniversary is in early June... TR and pics will be posted...

I thought there was a big difference when we were there for the flower
and garden fesitval compared to when we normally go. It seemed to me
that there were at least twice as many topiary displays, and huge
flower beds that aren't normally there. It's a wonderful time to visit
Epcot. Visually it was very different.

There are a number of obvious things only there during the festival. As
well as several exhibit areas, including the butterfly area that was
mentioned.

Last year during the F&G they had available a visual scavenger hunt for
hidden Mickeys. Some of them were permanent EPCOT features, but many
were only there for the F&G.
