Disney's purchase of Lucasfilms today for $4 billion will likely mean
more "Star Wars" TV projects, says Disney CEO Bob Iger. "We really
like Star Wars’ potential on TV, and Disney XD would be a great home
for that," he says.

The ink is hardly dry on the buy-out papers, and already people are pre-judging the outcome. Sad,

Mainly because it's sheer idiocy with a massive dollop of greed thrown on
top. :-(

George Lucas IS Star Wars - it's not really possible to separate the two.
He was in charge, it was his idea. Now we'll have a bunch of
(mis)management fools and bean counters in charge employing a bunch of
over-egoed idiots who think they know better than George Lucas. :-(

Disney have massive plans, which is usually means lots of ill-fitting
rubbish that ruins a franchise.

There's already rushed movies being worked on - a silly supposed third
trilogy, despite the fact that there's nowhere sensible the storyline can
go. The Emperor is dead, the Empire is finished, to do a new trilogy means
inventing a new baddie along with some half-baked reason why they weren't
in any of the previous movies ... it stinks highly of simply being a
cash-grab exercise.

If they want to make more spin-off movies, then that's fine (*IF* done
properly and fittingly with everything that has already been established
and the style) - there's infinte other stores they can tell ... but leave
the Saga alone at six movies and the story of Anakin Skywalker.

What kind of "Star Wars" TV shows will Disney develop?:
http://tvline.com/2012/11/01/star-wars-tv-series/

Now that Disney owns the "Star Wars" franchise, will we see a lot of
"Star Wars" TV shows — including the long-rumored live TV adaptation?

They'll resurrect "From All of Us, To All of You", and bump some classic
animation segment for a snippet from Star Wars.

I'd bet on a cartoon starring C3PO and R2D2, and probably that
monumnetally annoying creature from the fourth actual episode whose name,
thank heaven, escapes me.

It's Disney, so I expect Star Wars Chapter 7: Rescue from The Black
Hole.

They'd better start working on this one pretty soon. Yvette's getting
old, and Perkins is dead.
