Four years ago, Disney Channel neglected to celebrate their 25th
Anniversary, and that was important to their fans.
However, their 30th Anniversary is coming next year. So, any
suggestions?

They're not gonna do a thing. Recognizing their history would mean
talking about old shows their current market doesn't care about.
Disney Channel doesn't do nostalgia. It used to but it never will
again.

I don't expect Disney Channel to do anything for its 30th birthday
considering that it didn't even celebrate its 20th birthday in 2003
(if my memory serves me right, correct me if I'm wrong on this
anyone).

That's something about Disney that's always got on my nerves. They've
always been completely unwilling to talk about their history just
because somewhere along the line, they went from having a fun variety
of shows to wanting to appeal as much to the lowest common denominator
as much as possible. A lowest common denominator which, for some
idiotic reason, seems to think that anything (and I do mean ANYTHING)
older than 10 years old is complete crap. At least Cartoon Network's
willing to recognize its roots. Even Nick was willing to celebrate its
25th anniversary.

I have a few
1. Cancel ALL of their cheesy poorly written glob awful live action
sitcoms, and replace them with something (anything) thats actually
watchable
2. Marathon some older shows, Gargoyles, Lilo & Stitch, Ducktales, Kim
Possible, American Dragon, Muppets, So Weird, etc.
3. Play actual classic Disney shorts, not those horrid re-mixes
4. Play some classic Disney films (Snow White, Bambi, Fantasia, etc)
And on an even more personal note I would like to see all those teeny
bopping stars & starlets that have been mucking up the network the
past..what near decade now thrown into Cherabong's Volcano! XD.
But seriously I would genuinely love to see them marathon some classic
& older stuff, that would be nice.

Sorry for bumping the thread, but I would like to point out my 2 cents
about this:
-Air marathons of older and new shows on weekends
-Rebrand the bumpers, idents, promos, etc. Also get a new announcer.
The logo can stay the same.
-Air the classic shorts and movies from Disney
-Air sneak peeks of the upcoming Wander Over Yonder
Disney needs to do something for its 30th B-day. Look how Nick
celebrated its 30th birthday with a logo change and CN with its 20th
birthday with the return of the old shows.

I don't see them going really far with this but I suggest...
Airing classic Disney cartoons
New episodes every month
Sneak peeks

Disney Channel needs a new announcer for its 30th anniversary. How
about this, for animated adventure programs, which Disney Channel
needs badly(not everyone has Disney XD) to compete with both Cartoon
Network and Nick on Saturday mornings, bring in Bill Ratner- Disney
Channel does need someone like him to announce promos for some
animated drama programs, especially on Toonin' Saturdays. In line with
that, have a new slogan for those programs, like this. "Adventure
lives again on Disney Channel". As for those classic programs, put
them in a programming block on Sunday afternoon and call it The Best
of Disney Channel. Bring back the Weekend Specials and make it 1 hr.
long with Kermit the Frog as host- it would feature specials produced
by not only by Disney, but also by Fremantle Media, Film Roman, Lee
Mendleson Studios, Man of Action Studios, Ruby-Spears, It's a Laugh
Productions, Cookie Jar Entertainment, Teletoon Enterprises, etc.
Sneak peeks of new programs, especially TV specials for Toonin'
Saturdays' upcoming seasons. Basically, for its 30th anniversary,
Disney Channel needs to work on developing programs to help change its
programming culture, and it can't hurt to try new things.

It would be great if Disney had a special "anniversary day" each week,
themed around different years in the shows history, including classic
bumpers, commercial-free programming (why does Disney do commercial
breaks when the station never advertises products?), Vault Disney,
maybe even end it after 16 hours like in the early years (and have the
Mickey Mouse satelite station id).
It'd be cool if there was a special two-disc set. Disc 1 could focus
on the classic years, with episodes of Welcome to Pooh Corner, Mickey
Mouse Club, Dumbo's Circus, and more, as well as classic bumpers and
promos, openings to the various shows that had classic animated
shorts, and other things, and then disc 2 could focus on episodes of
modern shows. Perhaps disc 1 can focus on "the premium channel
years" (1983-1997) and disc 2 can be "the commercial
years" (1997-2013). That'd be a good way to get an episode of Muppets
Tonight on DVD.
