Dear All,

I am currently working on version 4.0 of the Line/C&W Dance & Music FAQ
(a bumper Christmas edition - <G>) and would invite all those on the line-dance
and country western dance lists for any further suggestions,
additions and corrections as to content of the current version (3.0) which is
now available from all existing distribution sites (further distributors are
welcome - please contact me direct if you would like to be added to the FAQ
distributors list).

The table of contents for version 4.0 looks something like this (at this
moment):

9.0 NEW DANCES - CHOREOGRAPHERS SECTION

10.0 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

=========================================================================

I hope to add a full pristine example of a correctly laid out dance to section
8.0 so that everyone can see how best to distribute dance steps over the
internet (particularly via the line-dance list for storage at Danrarch). The
IDEAS group are kindly assisting in this process.

****** Choreographers who are brimming over with Christmas Spirit ******
(Please - only choreographers and no one else)

are invited to submit their favourite dance (it doesn't have to be one of your
own) for inclusion in a new dance section to be incorporated into version 4.0
and all future versions. I would prefer that these dances were newly
choreographed (within the last calendar year) or alternatively, if they are well
known popular dances (like Tush Push, etc), that you submit an "original" copy
so that the FAQ can attempt to correct some of the alternative versions of your
work which now exist all over the world <G>.
It is my intention to feature about 5-10 dances in each subsequent edition of
the FAQ but this depends entirely upon choreographers expressing an
interest in this section (and supporting it). No support then no section!

I could do with a hand re finding album information for:

* the Forester Sisters
* the Osbourne Brothers
* The Joe Barnhill Band (Cotton Eyed Joe)
* Isaac Peyton Sweat (Cotton Eyed Joe)
* Mel McDaniel
* Bob Woodruff

Any offers anyone? Please include the record label as well as the album if you
have that info. I have expanded the artists section to include well over 100 C&W
artists and others but if I have missed anyone out that you think should be in
there then please drop me a line.

The glossary of line dance terms has already been greatly improved but version
4.0 will carry even more definitions. Again if you disagree with any of the
interpretations please let me know. If you also know of any step moves which
have different names (but are the same move) across the USA then please let me
know as well. I can use these aka aliases to point to the most generally
accepted dance term thus (hopefully) assisting new dancers and avoiding
confusion. Once again if there are omissions that need to be inserted then
please let me know.

Finally I would like to thank Eileen Bauer, Steve Grout, Robert Fielder and
Victor Eijkhout for all their help in the distribution process. The IDEAS group
(individually and collectively) for their continued support and input to the FAQ
and all the many individuals who have devoted much of their time assisting in
the development of a free information resource for line/C&W dancers. My thanks
also to Phil Rockwell for his Word shortcuts, Valerie, Erin, Dave & Sue, Pete,
David (Prieto & Rix), Bob, Bill, Jeannie, Lori, Kathy, Judy, Patti and the
numerous A.N. Others (apologies if I've missed anyone out).

My thanks to everyone and my very best wishes to you all for Christmas and the
New Year - happy dancing!

Kind Regards,

Julian
