Free Friday-night ballroom dance practices & socials in Iowa

FRIDAY-NIGHT DANCE PRACTICES (SOCIALS)

The Iowa State University (ISU) Ballroom Dance Club hosts free
Friday-night dance practices and socials that are open to _everyone_.
Our music is mostly big band with modern music used for the swing and
fox trot. Singles are welcome, and you don't have to have a partner.
Dress is casual; however, indoor-type shoes or socks must be worn on
the studio floor. The practices are held on the ISU Campus in the
Forker Building (formerly PEB), studio 196 (Toman Studio), from
7:30-9:45pm on most Friday evenings during fall and spring semesters
when ISU is in session. The exceptions to our regular meetings are
listed below:

Oct 30: Halloween dance party; treats without the tricks included.
No change in time or place. Costumes optional.

Nov 27: Over Thanksgiving break, dance practice will meet in the
Gallery Room of the ISU Memorial Union.

Dec 25 thru Jan 8: No practice over the university Christmas recess.
Practice resumes January 15, 1999.

The ISU Ballroom Dance Club also offers evening dance classes to
everyone beginning about the second or third week of every semester.
Check our local posting in isu.events or rec.arts.dance at the start
of each semester for more information.
