A few that I remember. Try Hernando's Hideaway for a Tango. Tequila and
Papa Loves Mambo for a mambo. For a waltz, try Moon River, Somewhere My
Love, Let Me Go Lover, Allegheny Moon and Tammy. For cha cha try Cherry
Pink and Apple Blossom White and Patricia (I think there was a version of
Tea For Two done then also). There might also have been a version of
Besame Mucho (Tango) done then.

If your DJ has the original 1963 recording of Watermellon Man
(sorry, forgot the artist name), that's also a fabulous chacha.
Beware of imitations: there have been zillions of remakes of
this song.

Actually, Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White hit the
charts in 1955.
