No reason given for than, no reason given for not using Ron Montez as a
choreographer, . . . It seems they only tried to say nice things about
people they did use as judges and choreographers, and no explanation of
why they didn't use certain individuals.
Thanks. I wondered because she's been such a visible presence on the
show since I've been watching (season 2). I hope it's for a positive
reason (too busy with new work) rather than a falling-out or health
issue.
Well, she did a couple of shows on the last season of the Canadian
SYTYCD, as choreographer and judge. So maybe she's been touring the
various spin offs in other countries. It would allow her to make more
international contacts.
Also the core Canadian judging panel has been a little lackluster - a bit
too much Paula Abdul/1st season Mary Murphy and not enough Nigel, if you
get what I mean. Which, as far as I'm concerned, leads to the audience
not respecting the judges' opinion. If every dance is wonderful and the
judges have nothing but praise, but even audience members can see the
difference, then of what use are the judges? The judges should be
displaying their knowledge and skill by offering constructive criticism
to allow the dancers the opportunity to learn and grow, and unfortunately
criticism doesn't seem to be in the vocabulary of Jean-Marc. He's a far
too Genereux, in long dragging speeches that suck the energy from the
show. Tre Armstrong is only marginally better in that her comments tend
to be shorter. I don't always agree with Blake but at least he's willing
to brave boos from the audience. The foreign judges like Mia are a
welcome change.
