SOAS Swingin' on a Star -- run by Kenny Roesel. My second favorite to
WSDC. A lot of advanced and intermediate dancers, with a dose of
beginners. Cost is $10 for both dance and lesson -- no membership.

if you like Big Band, but they don't draw huge crowds. $8 for both

Springfield, Virginia. From Beltway take I-95 south. Immediately
take Old Keene Mill Rd. exit (first ramp, exit 169B) to Old Keene
Mill Rd. After Shoney's, turn right to Rt. 167 south. Go right
over bridge to the American Legion Post at the southern end of
the bridge (next to Kay Jennings Toyota).
ARCFM Adult Recreation Center (Old Armory), 2nd & Bentz Sts, Frederick,
Maryland. From DC: I-270 north to Rt 85 (Market St) exit. Rt 85
dead ends at a stoplight, turn left (Market St). Proceed to 2nd St,
turn left; 2 blocks to Bentz St.

BLOB Blob's Park near Columbia, Maryland. Take Maryland Route 175 east
from Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Jessup-Odenton Exit). Blob's
Park is on the right at exit.
C-ACO Albemarle County Office Building (Charlottesville, Virginia).
C-FRY Fry's Spring Beach Club. At the intersection of Jefferson Park
Avenue and Old Lynchburg Road. From north of Charlottesville, take
US 29 South to Emmett Street to Jefferson Park Avenue. From all
other directions, take the US 250 Bypass to Emmett Street to
Jefferson Park Avenue. JPA is on the right after passing through
the UVa grounds and going around a 90 degree curve. Make a left at
the first light (this is still JPA).
C-SEN Senior Center Ballroom. Located at 1 Pepsi Place, just north of
Charlottesville. From north of Charlottesville, take US 29 South
to the intersection of Greenbrier and US 29. Make a left onto
Greenbrier, and then take the first right onto Pepsi Place. From
all other directions, take US 29 North to the intersection of
Greenbrier and 29. Make a right onto Greebrier, and then take the
first right onto Pepsi Place.
CHEL Chelsea's. On Thomas Jefferson St. between M and the waterfront
in Georgetown (Washington, DC). (202) 298-7092. $10 cover.
Atmosphere: Loud Latin/Disco music, smoky and usually crowded.
Crowd ability quite good. Styles include Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia,
with disco breaks. No official lessons, but the lead trombone
player will teach ladies salsa or merengue on request!
CHILL Cherry Hill Park Clubhouse in the Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park,
Maryland. (Take Rt. 1 south of the Beltway for 1/10 mile, then take
Cherry Hill Rd. west for one mile). A great 60'x60' floor in an air
conditioned building.
CLIN County Line. From Washington Beltway, take I-95 north to I-195
east toward BWI Airport. Take exit 1A north, then turn right at
the first light. The County Line is in the Sheraton International
Hotel (entrance approx. 100 yards on the right.)
CRABC Crab Contras, ATDS, (410) 883-3140. They dance on the eastern shore,
but the flyer doesn't say where!
DANC Dancers, a non-smoking non-drinking night club. Small floor holds
the DC dancing clique and a few unsuspecting beginners. 4609 Willow
Lane, Chevy Chase, Maryland. (301) 656-0595. Take Wisconson Ave
south from I-495 (exit is between I-270 and I-95) for about three
miles. Turn left on Willow Lane (it's between East/West Hwy MD 410
and Bradley Blvd.) Parking is sometimes tough, but there are plenty
of spaces in the shopping center one block west of Wisconson Ave.

Take I-495 to Gallows Road east (inside the beltway). Go one

Walnut Hill development on left. Park on Annandale Rd. outside
the development. Walk into development; Hutch's studio is the
fourth house from the end on the left-hand side. Walk across
grass, up steps, and come in through the sliding glass doors in
back.

at the Philadelphia city line. From there, follow Bethlehem
Pike South (a left) until it merges into Germantown Ave. South.

Hill), turn right onto Cresheim Valley Dr. which eventually
becomes Emlen St. (at Allens Lane). Follow Emlen St. until
Lincoln Dr. (3 lights). Turn right on Lincoln Dr. Turn left
at the first light, Carpenter Lane. Go one block, just passing
under a railroad overpass. The Commodore Barry Club Ballroom

Sally teaches St. Louis Shag every other Thursday at Randy's. I don't
think they give private lessons (at least so far) in anything other than
WCS.
