At the UW-Madison Ballroom Club, there are 300+ members and growing. As
many as 500 UW students are enrolled in the University Ballroom courses
here at UW. All are required to attend 2 or more Ballroom functions. As a
result, most come to the club dances. The club runs about 10-11 dances per
semester, with weekly practices and professionaly group lessons. The
demographics in our Ballroom club are:

25% Seniors
12% Juniors
6% Sophomores
3% Freshmen
35% Graduate students
10% Special students
9% Others (graduates, faculty/staff, & Madison Locals)

Anyone from other university ballroom clubs have more demographic
information to share?

At the Carnegie Mellon University Ballroom Dance Club, we are now the largest
club on campus. We have over 200 members during the year and about 150
during the summer. This is quite good considering the campus has 4000
undergrads and 2500 grad students, and barely a summer school. We teach
lessons on Wednesday nights and have an end of semester party. UNfortunately
our ballroom has been demolished for a new student center. Painted
concrete has to be the slickest, hardest and worst surface!

Here is an average semester demographics:

CMU Grad 40% (here for a long time)
CMU Undergrad 34% (lots of freshmen)
CMU Staff 6%
U. Pitt students 8% (As many people as Pitt's own club)
Other students 3%
Non campus 9%

Luckily our male/female ratio has gotten better with the larger class size.
However, we have trouble retaining people for the demo and comp teams.

Yes!!!!

We just started the University of Delaware Ballroom Dance Club. It is housed
under the PE department, so Faculty, Staff and Students can Join. We
have 2 Sunday Night classes that our instructor teaches and last year
we had 120 people sign up. There is also a 1 Credit Class that had
over 80 students join.

We are currently beginning lessons with an competitive instructor so that
we can compete in England this spring.
