What was the purpose of factor X? What did it accomplish? I expected
Cyclops' nature to take over and for him to lead the X-men against
Apocalypse! But no all he does in this issue is die! Was the
purpose of Factor X just to give cyke havock and beast something to
do while everyone else was doning something important? I mean all of
the mutants that were freed from the pens died from the bombs anyway
so what did they ultimately accomplish?

In X-men Omega we find Scott and that wishy washy slut Jean hand in
hand. When Havok nails Jean we hear his obligatory "JEAN!!!!" which
is really getting kind of trite. Then when she dies she wispers to logan
"you were always with me in my heart." The only thing of importance
was Jean holding up the bombs over Manhattan island!
Just a rant.

Dangit! There it is again! Where the heck was the spoiler?! Thanks a
lot for spoiling the whole series for me. You owe me $1.95 x 4 = $7.80.
Grrrrrr.

A: Please watch the language.

I think the purpose of Factor-X was to show us what it was like on the
inside of Poky's empire. The other reason is they had an awful lot of
X-men to account for, and were having enough problems with Amazing and
Astonishing keeping track of them all. It was also a way to feature the
X-men as bad guys. Plotwise it didn't serve as much as it could have,
but it did add to the sense of the Alter-X atmosphere to the whole.
