With Chip Samson recovering from a surgery: "As I have mentioned in previous posts, the strip is temporarily in reruns (selected by my wonderful editor), due to an unexpected surgery and subsequent recuperation. This is no secret, as anyone who reads the strips can see the original year of publication on the copyright. I will be back working on the strip as soon as my doctors clear it. In the meantime, I will continue to interact with my readers whenever possible through the daily comments on GoComics."

So I guess The Born Loser may not resume new episodes until after 2022 begins, maybe at the same time Mutts (which has been on hiatus since July 2021 as Patrick McDonnell works on a graphic novel or something like that?) resumes with new episodes as well after a 1/2 year hiatus?

Here's a message I got from Chip Samson when I messaged him on Facebook a Merry Christmas: "I have already been working on brand new Born Loser strips. The dailies will begin appearing in publication soon. As you know, the Sundays have a longer production lead time than dailies. The Sundays didn't start reruns until about a month after the dailies, so the new Sundays will appear about that same length of time after the new dailies have started. For your future reference, when someone has serious health problems and is unable to work and the schedule for returning is completely out of their hands, the last thing in the world they want to hear is someone pressing them on what is wrong with them and how soon they will be working again. A little sympathy, compassion and understanding are what they want most in their time of need. Happy New Year!"

So I guess sometime in early 2022 new daily Born Loser strips will resume and then the Sunday Born Loser strips will be new and fresh a few weeks after that.

By the way, is Chip Sansom planning on retiring from writing The Born Loser comic strip in the near future? Or does he have a third artist planned to take over The Born Loser. Because Chip Sansom is over 70 and getting older and one day he'll pass on like Art Sansom did in 1991. Is there going to be a third artist or will The Born Loser come to an end like Peanuts did in 2000? Let me know what you think.
