The lost little dog has found his way home
http://www.gocomics.com/littledoglost/2016/07/24
and invited Vernon to stay with the family
http://www.gocomics.com/littledoglost/2016/07/23

The homecoming story began July 6
http://www.gocomics.com/littledoglost/2016/07/06

In the comments for the July 11th strip
Little Dog Lost creator Steve Boreman wrote,

"...as many of you have suspected, yes he IS
getting closer to home. After 10 years on the road,
it would only seem fair to let the Dog finally arrive.
Like him, I’ve had a few big changes of my own over
the last 3,395 strips – including the birth of three
wonderful kids (a new one just last month, in fact!
Hence my recent hiatus). I have decided it’s time to
retire Little Dog Lost, at the end of this month."
(there's more to Boreman's message, go read it at
http://www.gocomics.com/littledoglost/2016/07/11 )

So it ends at the end of this month.
Is that today (the 24th)?
Next Saturday? Next Sunday?
Today's looks and reads
("There's always tomorrow.")
like it could be the last,
but we'll have to wait and see.

So, we are having 4 comic strips ceasing in July 2016. A few weeks ago it was Momma (but thanks to Creators, is remaining in some papers in reruns indefinately), last week it was U Can With Beakman and Jax, next week it will be Heavens Love Thrift Shop, and now maybe next week Little Dog Lost comes to its end.

But when will we see the end for good of daily rerun mode/mostly first run Sunday mode since November 2013 Get Fuzzy?

The revelation in the last panel of today's (Sunday's) number of where
the entire strip has taken place rather suggests that this is the end.

Speaking of which, my vote for Little Dog's name is "Tommy".

Steve Boreman in the comments section of the above installment:
"I wish I had one more week to share with you, but
I think it’s fitting to leave it here and let the Dog
and Tortoise decide where they want to be tomorrow."
"...I don’t know what plans GoComics has for reruns..."

The only newspaper account I have seen,
from the Centre Daily Times (State College, Pa.):
"...today marks the end of the weekly “Little Dog Lost”
strip, which is being discontinued by its creator. In its place,
starting next Sunday, we will be debuting “Mike du Jour,”
which is popular with readers around the country."
