Does anyone have *any* idea what's going on in Pibgorn?

I think I read every strip, and I have none.

The same thing as happened when this arc was first shown.

I think we have another 54 dailies to go.

IIRC, he went to repeats before the story was finished because he
was recuperating from his stroke, (and I think he has avoided
repeating *everything* -- I remember more strips with Pib's butt
on backwards) and we are somewhere near where it was before.

But my question stands.

I /think/ the story did finish, with the caliph dealt with and everyone
else back where they belonged.

Are you asking what the idea behind the whole story was, or what the
point of Dru entering the program here was? (I certainly can't answer
the latter - the former just seemed an odd (and drawn out and more than
a little disjointed and unsatisfying) re-imagining of Scheherezade.

Yes, I got that it was a 1001 Nights riff and that the Caliph is dead.
But the Genie is still around, though the mermaid is gone (yes?) and
Pib is a Bozoid!?

The mermaid will be back.

Pib was Bozoid'ed after the events of:

then confirmed here:

Are you talking about the story as of this point, or what appears to be
the end (July 26 2013 the first time around)? Because some of those
things changed between this point and the (apparent) end. Though Pib
being (part) Bozoid didn't...

I'm pretty sure I remember being about at this point before, but I don't
remember any resolution from the previous run. I had thought he broke
the storyline off into repeats before the end, but perhaps I just don't
remember it for some reason.

Has Pibgorn been in reruns since Brooke's stroke? I bet Brooke's 9 Chickweed Lane is using ghost artists for new strips when not in occassional rerun mode.

Pibgorn as been a narrative mess since just after the "beefwit" incident and was in rerun mode for several years (or 3/4 of a story arc) so McEldowney could work on other musical projects.

I recently added the original 9 Chickweed Lane comics to my daily newsfeed. In the old strips, McEldowney was funny, playful and somewhat original. I think when the Edda moves to New York City storyline started it was the beginning of the end of being humorous and turned into a fantasy wish fulfillment fanfic.
