Breath-ed is correct. The company I work for colored both Bloom County
and Outland Sunday strips and I talked with him often. by the way, when
he did BC, he went by Berke, but when he did Outland, he used his full
name - Berkely.

Neither. I'm sure I read somewhere that it's "breath-ed".

Anybody know if Mr. Breathed would do such a wonderful thing?

There is a chance Berke Breathead will do another strip in the future.
There is also a chance that you will win the Presidency as a write in
candidate.
Bereke absolutely abhores this medium...he even refuses to read a
newspaper, and considers that era of his career as part of a past life.
Don't get your hopes up.

What does Mr. Breathed do these days? I've wondered that for a while.
Has he always abhored this medium, or did something concrete happen?
I used to love Bloom County, although I never cared for Outland.

Berke has been doing children's books (no, he doesn't have any kids) for a
few years now, and has been working with Steven Spielberg, off and on, in
animation projects. He still does some licensing with his characters
(mostly Opus) in greeting cards and such stuff.
His environmental beliefs are in direct conflict with the newsprint
medium. He doesn't want to help support the killing of more trees.

Which makes the World Wide Web the perfect medium for
his works, no?

Ummm ... given what the 2 1/2 major candidates seem to have to offer ...
what would David Glebe do about the deficit, teen drug use and Iraq? And
does he constantly refer to himself in the third person, or whatever?

Opinions are my own. If you agree with me, that is your problem.
A friend who saw him in D.C. during a protest against animal testing met
him. The 'eath' is pronounced like it was only 'eth', like in Beth.
Two syllables, Breath-Ed.
Hope this helps.

Or paper makers could switch from wood pulp to hemp as a source of cellulose.
Gov'mnt studies have claimed that four times as much paper can be made from
hemp as from trees. (And harvested annually rather than waiting years 'n'
years. - And grown everywhere rather than in monopoly owned reservations.)
But then politicians would have to start thinking with their brains instead
of their campaign funds. And that's unpossible.

Interesting thing is that my local paper uses only recycled newsprint for it's
paper. So if BB has a problem with killing trees he should stop reprinting his
strips in book not using recycled paper and stick with newspapers that do; Thus
keeping trees alive.
