Al Capp's connection to Hollywood sex scandals

Yes. That exists. The recent sexual allegations involving Harvey Weinstein (and more recently, Kevin Spacey) have brought back an unusual connection from the comic strip universe.

Legendary actress Goldie Hawn admitted that she was sexually harassed when she was 19 by Al Capp (yes, of "Lil' Abner" fame). Full story linked below:

"Recently, some disturbing events have been brought to light
regarding two high profile members of the cartooning community
regarding sexual harassment and assault allegations. The
National Cartoonists Society Board of Directors would like to
make it known that we take these matters extremely seriously
and will act to protect our members and maintain an environment
that is safe and harassment-free.

"We encourage and implore those who experience or witness any
such incidents to report them to members of the Board. Safety,
respect, and dignity are the top priority in the personal
interactions of our organization and we will tolerate no less
than absolute compliance with these standards of behavior."

On twitter Guy Gilchrist was asked about it and responded (Nov. 3):

"I believe my 44 years at the top of my game, & 2 sick young lady
( family 🙏❤️w/fake tape on her way to fed prison does it 4 me .
Pray 4 AMG"

and

"Many years this sad beautiful girl.more like my daughter.
I grew up in garbage.
No father I wanted to save herTurn her into gr8artist.tears"

His rambling posts on Facebook around this time were troubling
to a number of people who were worrying about him.

While searching for anything about Guy's well-being,
I found this allegation:
"In 2017 his display of anger and rage towards other professionals
and patrons at a popular Comicon in Nashville Tennessee, he
confirmed his addiction to alcohol and methamphetamine usage.
His mental illness since 2015, causes him to lash out in
uncontrollable anger at whomever strikes him the wrong way.
A criminal warrant for his assaults on many, has condemned
him as an industry professional."

Who asked and answered that? I don't know.
And I can find no other reports of any such
behavior happening at the Nashville comic con.
