After getting no response from comics.com earlier today, I now get a
"we're down for maintenance" page(specifically:

Actually, we're upgrading the site and adding some cool new features. Be
back in a couple of hours.

illustrated with a Working Daze panel about server upgrades). Maybe
they've finally realized that their site's unreliability can have a
business impact...

Business impact? Well, I guess for the companies placing ads, for
those few readers not running an ad blocker.

At the price I'm paying, I can live with some downtime. If it takes a
few days, so be it- that is what the <- on the screen is for....

I hope I can get the emails again. Haven't been receiving them for
couple of weeks now.

Oddly enough Yahoo News comics section has most if not all of
comics.com comics and is updating the comics with no problems. Maybe
Yahoo could tell comics.com how to update their own comics.

... You just reminded me that I had stopped getting the e-mails.
I guess I wasn't really counting on them after all, which is just as
well.

I did like the choice of _Working Daze_ panel used for the
maintenance page, though.
