They added Vincent DeNafrio today. I am ... underwhelmed. Bad casting
for the Kingpin, too.

I think there was a Flash tv series in the '80's or '90's. Saw a part of
an episode once in which Barry had to prove he wasn't Flash. So, at
super speed he 'proved that'. You saw his alter ego 'flash around'
somewhere going fast nowhere like, as we would say, 'a headless
chicken'. That fragment left me underwhelmed.

Ah, the Defenders.
My favorite line up, in the comics, was from around Defenders vol. 1 no.
100. When they fought that demon group the six-fingered hand. They
rivaled the Avengers themselves power wise. But they probably won't be
allowed to use the Surfer. Being FF turf and all.

I thought it would make more sense if they combined Iron Fist and Luke
Cage from the start. Didn't they team up in the comics? HeroES For Hire?

The Flash TV show was pretty good for the time. The costume was great.

Luke Cage, Power-Man (1972) had 49 issues as a solo hero before teaming
up with Iron Fist.

Yep. That actor will play this Flash's father (we think)

No. Peggy Carter is a character from the FIRST Captain America film.
Her series will apparently be set right after WW2, in the cold war.

That's unclear. Agent Coulson - sorry, Director Coulson - is lobbying
to be in the Netflix series the way Director Fury was in the Marvel
movies to tie it all together.

Wasn't she the old woman Cap visits in Winter Soldier? Sounds like
a chance to go all "Mad Men" on the Marvel Universe. Howard Stark died in,
what, the late 1960s?

The character has been around in the comics for a number of years. Her
daughter or maybe niece or granddaughter depending on your timeline
would be Sharon Carter, a fixture in the Cap books for quite sometime
in the last 20 years or so.

The tie-in I want to see between the first Captain America movie and the
Avengers movie/Agents of Shield is the connection between the Howling
Commandos and Nick fury & Trip Jones, grandson of Gabriel Jones of the
HC. My theory is that Nick Fury is a junior or maybe a 3rd generation
Nick Fury with the first Nick fury sidelined with an injury during the
first Cap movie to avoid having him appear.

ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING is a fun movie, though big Thor doesn;t get
much screentime. I had no idea it was the same guy as 'The Edgar Suit'
from MEN IN BLACK.

Okay. I knew Cage was the older character.

I remember that movie. It was indeed funny.

My girlfriend at the time wouldn't miss it. It had John Wesley Shipp as
Barry Allen and Amanda Pays as Tina McGee. IMDB gives it a 7.3 out of
10. IIRC, its time slot got moved around a lot.

The Flash show tried very hard, but the network didn't think it would
work, so they just threw it around until it lost its audience and CBS
went, "See?"

Shipp was excellent casting. (Mark Hamill as the Trickster was also
very good.) I wasn't a fan of the Flash's muscle suit, since (as in
the comics) I thought Barry should have been slim, like a runner.

The series is available for viewing, and it's well worth a look. In
fact, one 1991 episode of The Flash ("Fast Forward") was remade almost
word for word as an episode of M.A.N.T.I.S. nearly four years later
("The Eyes Beyond").

To live up to promises, they have to bring in young versions of the
characters. Maybe Bane is the school bully. Officer Gordon is going to
spend a lot of time dealing with quirky juvenile crime. Probably more
interesting than most cop shows.

I suppose Barbara Gordon is about ten. Guest appearance by Robin going
by in a stroller.

Barbara's probably not born yet. Dick definitely isn't. But you're
right, Gordon should be on the JV squad!

I think they should use the 'famous' characters spares.
My guess is they are going for something like a DC counterpart of
'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
