As you are all aware, rec.arts.comics.misc is clearly chartered as a
discussion group. Another RAC* group rec.arts.comics.marketplace, exists for
the posting of ads. The charters for these and other RAC* groups are spelled
out in a set of FAQs posted weekly to all groups in the rac* hierarchy.
I urge you to think carefully before buying anything from the posters below.

A meta question:
So why is Roz's hype type posting, different than other publisher's hype type
postings? (not that I remember her post, just recall from RACS that she's a
publisher and syndicate owner).

How is that different from what raca has allowed since inception, and
explicitly permits in its FAQ? (Primarily because so many alternative
comics, esp. the self-published variety, just won't be available in
shops for browsing, even if they get distributed at all.)
I recognize that this isn't raca but racm. But so long as such posts
are kosher on one group and not on the other, there'll be some
confusion. And the FAQs for racm (including the "Don't Be A Bozo"
FAQlet) don't make any allowance for any form of benign hype posts. (If
they do, I can't find it.) The FAQs really need to make this clearer.
(And incidentally, for anyone who's been wondering, my
one-foot-in-the-grave, permanently-on-hold Alternative Comics Web Page
is currently located at http://php.indiana.edu/~mfragass/altcom.html.)

I don't doubt it, but I think there is a place in a hype ad
for a one or two line "Contact me for a sample issue or
for back issues or subscriptions at good...@aol.com."
I think something like that is acceptable, as long as the
hype is the point of the post, not the selling.
