Okay, as everyone might remember, a whole mess of stuff is going down in
Philly starting this Friday, October 8 through Monday, October 11.

Details have been posted before, and more will come after the convention,
but for now, I have to ask, just out of idle curiosity, who else is going to
this convention?

If anyone wants any details of any sort, feel free to ask.

I am! I am! I'm going on Sat the 9th. I plan on getting there early
(8:30am - 9am, early enough if I have to wait in line, but not so early
that I will get carjacked =). I plan on being there all day (hey, I'm
getting my $10 worth out of those tickets) and swamping the creators'
tables with comics for them to sign. I'll be on the hunt for freebies, and
may post something about the day on Sunday night. Maybe we should have
gotten an RAC booth? =)

OK, lets meet in front of the Image booth, at which point I'll throw a
live grenade into it and watch the Image Gang (like the Gang of Seven?)
try to escape with a crowd around them. =)

Seriously, I've got a map of the convention layout from my CBG. Someone
name a spot and we'll mob there. (In front of the autograph tables? =)
Maybe we should at least wear nametags that say R.A.C.M.

Of course, Suicide Squid shirts often serve the same purpose for iding
r.a.c.ers. Although at Worldcon there were about 4 people wearing Squid
shirts who'd been given them by friends.

I just felt the urge to be senseless and repeat that anyone going Friday
can find me at the David v. McFarlane debate. I'll be clad all in black,
and my party will be wearing Kid Miracleman buttons. We should be pretty
easy to spot in any crowd...

There's a good chance I might drive up, for the weekend anyway. I should be easy
to spot as well. I look like Supergirl in a civilian outfit, or rather what
Supergirl would like if

-- She weren't dead
-- She weren't blond [ Actually, this point can probably be scratched,
since in civies, she wasn't blond.]
-- She weren't Caucasian (or rather Caucasian Kryptonian)
-- She weren't female
-- She were several years older
-- She had whiskers
-- She weighed several pounds more (or looked like she weighed several
pounds more anyway, since Kara's real weight was probably very high
because of all those superdense molecules).

That should make it a snap to spot me.

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Look for me:

6'2" with dark short hair, wearing a black baseball cap
with "Simon Says ..." on the front in teil.

I'll be with a cute blonde who'll be looking kind of dazed ...

If anyone's planning on keeping a list of RACMers who show up at the
Con, could you please post it when you get a chance? I'd be interested
in seeing just who shows up there. Thanks.

a (comics) con before, for that matter.

I'm sorry, but legally we can't refer to ourselves as RACMers.
I guess you haven't been reading _Squid_ lately, but Alonzo Mori has
been featuring a character of that name, and plans to use him in a miniseries.
He's threatened to bring the matter to a lawsuit. We must therefore
call ourselves "Warriors of RACM".

If you attend the debate, come back here and tell us what it was
like because I met McFarlane and he seemed pretty cool, but he is
no writer. Peter David on the other hand is, in my opinion, the best
comic book writer out there. (If you think Neil Gaiman is don't argue
here because he's a close second and we would deteriorate into a
first grade argument like who's cooler, BATMAN or Superman.) Anyway,
I think David will kick Todd's ass, but I just want that confirmed here.
Have a great time at Philly. Big conventions rule.
