BATMAN GETS MORE ANIMATED

All-new episodes of the animated Batman series will join the Kid's WB
schedule along with new episodes of Superman in the fall of '97. The two
programs will alternate broadcasts on a daily basis each weekday
afternoon.

Some changes are in the works for the series as well. Dick Grayson,
formally Robin in the series, will now appear as his contemporary comic
book counter-part, Nightwing.

The new episodes will debut soon after the release of the next Batman
film, BATMAN & ROBIN, on June 20th.

MORE MOORE MORE!

In wake of the announcement regarding Alan Moore's retooling of the
Extreme Universe in JUDGMENT DAY, the studio has suggested that WARCHILD,
a previously solicited 3-issue miniseries by Moore is "in the can" and
will probably be offered sometime in late '97.

DAVID VS. GOLIATH, FOR "THE KINGDOM"

CLAYPOOL comics announced some plans for it's PETER DAVID/DAVE COCKRUM
title SOULSEARCHERS AND COMPANY, and they are taking a shot at the
biggest comic event of 1996 when KINGDOM DUMB ships in April.

The title, co-created by David & Richard Howell and illustrated by
Cockrum is an ongoing, bi-monthly title featuring a team of supernatural
investigators with supernatural powers. Each issue takes a satirical look
at subjects ranging from children's' fairy tales to TV staples such as
STAR TREK VOYAGER and the X-FILES. And in issue # 23, the Soulsearchers
take on the phenomenon known as KINGDOM COME.

HEY! Since DC is doing this one, why not let STEVE GERBER write

"Howard Clone" currently being published by Marvel. heh...

Lobo the Duck will probably be funny, but what the flamin' heck is BAT-THING and
GEN HEX supposed to be?????????????

Why don't they just do a full-length Hulk vs. Superman?

I would say :

Bat-Thing: Bruce Grimm, when test piloting a rocket is
bombarded with Gamma Radiation and gifted with Fantastic powers, where
he assumes the mantle of the Bat-Thing

Gen Hex: A group of young mutants learn to cope with
their new found powers under the teachings of Johnna Hex

Bat-Thing? batman, Man-thing? Hehehe.

Generation Hex. Generation X, with Cassidy Hex as their mentor and
leader.

Wonder if the Winter's Bros. will sue.

Nope. Fan #21 reports it as a cross between Batman & Man-Thing.
They list the team as follows:
Writer - Gary Hamma
Art - Rudolpho Dimagio
Inks - Bill Sienkiewicz

> Gen Hex: A group of young mutants learn to cope with
>their new found powers under the teachings of Johnna Hex

Johanna Hex? heh... sorry. couldn't resist.

In Fan #21, artist Adam Pollina described it like this:
"Imagine a hard-core gritty posse of mutants being hunted by a
renegade faction of the law in the Wild West."
The title is listed as Generation Hex.
Hex is supposed to be crossed with Chamber. hmm...
The creative team is listed as:
Writer - Peter Milligan
Art - Adam Pollina

Lobo The Duck

They list it as being done by Alan Grant & Val Semekis. Oh well,
I was hoping for Steve Gerber but... oh well. heh...

PS: Pick up a copy of Fan #21. it's good.

Now there was me thinking that it was a Man-Bat Man-Thing hybrid.
