If you ever wanted to collect some really fun and inexpensive pieces of
American pop art, you won't find a greater assortment of the early and tough
titles anywhere. Jack Chick has been cranking out these tracts for 40 years,
and he's one of the most widely read underground artists of all time, over 500
million made! Very collectable. A master list of everything with links is
available at:

"Chick" it out!
For the collector's site devoted to Chick tracts, go to: www.chickcomics.com
Don't the chick pamphlets stay in print indefinately? Aren't all of them still
available from Jack Chick Pubs themself?

Please don't post ads to rec.arts.comics.misc.
This is a discussion-only group; "for sale," "want to buy," and "for
auction" posts are off-topic here--furthermore, such posts are probably a
violation of your ISP's subscriber agreement.
Ads posted to rec.arts.comics.misc can only serve to annoy potential
customers (and you probably don't want to do that).
Rec.arts.comics.marketplace is the group for buying and selling comics and
comic-related items.
The charters for rac* groups are spelled out in a set of FAQs posted
regularly to rec.arts.comics.info. These FAQs are archived on the web at:

Thanks...

Some of them do occasionally go out of print, either because they don't seem
relevant anymore, or don't sell well. After all, tracts alleging that
Christian metal and Dungeons and Dragons are really Satanism only have a
short window of opportunity. Some are quietly cycled out of circulation
because of other reasons.
Though frequently he'll recycle the some of the discontinued tracts by
relettering them to alter their focus - such as "The Last Generation" which
was changed from an anti-Catholic tract to a anti-New Age tract.
Some of the discontinued tracts are still available as "special orders" -
meaning you have to order them in quantities of $10,000 or more. In general,
though, except for sending out samplers, Chick isn't fond of filling orders
for individual copies.

This is misleading.
He is "widely read" because people seeking to spread a particular way
of thinking buy his books, and distribute them freely, not because
these books are highly interesting or enjoyable to read.
Also, calling him an "underground artist", simply because his work
doesn't fit into the DC-Marvel publishing model, is to use a phrase
that brings to mind a very different type of work than his: one won't
expect to derive from his work the sort of enjoyment one might get
from the works of, say, Robert Crumb.
This is not to say that these religious tracts may not be of interest
as collectibles, or out of curiosity, but simply that you are
exaggerating their merits as reading material.

The latter tract is definitely still circulating, and I'm not sure why
you think it would only have a short window.
Some of the more completist comic stores do carry them -- for example,
The Beguiling, here in Toronto, does. (Stupid name, but a really good
store. www.beguiling.com.)

While I agree that the term "underground artist" as it is usually used is
inappropriate in Jack Chick's case, I derive exactly the same enjoyment
from Jack Chick pamphlets as I do from Robert Crumb--a look inside a very
disturbed, very creative mind.

I collect them, but I only collect those that are handed to me by genuine
street preachers. Somehow buying them straight from Chick Publications
seems like cheating...
I think you are merely unaware of their following OUTSIDE of their intended
audience, from a post modern ironic stance, kitsch, et al.
