Not only does the cover to #8 look similar to a cover of Uncanny X-Men
with Kitty Pryde in a similar pose and setting, but the title is
"Songbird: Alone!". This is similar to "Wolverine: Alone!", which is
the title of Uncanny X-Men #133. Useless info, but there it is.

You're confusing two things. #133 (I'm taking his word for the number...)
was the Dark Phoenix issue "Wolverine: Alone!" where Wolvie kicked some
Hellfire butt. The original poster was just noting the parallel between
the titles "Songbird: Alone!" and "Wolverine: Alone!" The _cover_
of T-bolts #8 is very similar to the cover of UX-Men #168 (or so), which
had Kitty in a very similar pose to Songbird on the cover, fighting a Brood
or Sidri or something alone in the basement of the X-mansion.

If the connection you're making is to Kitty Pryde, then it was UXM
#143 (#133 was during Dark Phoenix), and it would have been the Kitty
Pryde vs. the Nagari issue.

Actually it was UXM #168. It is the issue that Kitty (a.k.a. Sprite)
encounters Sidrian Hunters in the Mansion's lower maintenance tunnels.

Nope, the cover is ACTUALLY reminiscent not of Kitty's battle with the
Nagari demon, but with Kitty's much later battle with the Sidri that had
infested the mansion, drawn by Paul Smith.

And "Wolverine: Alone" was #133, and was him along invading the Hellfire
Club while the rest of the team was held captive....get it?

Other X-men connections: the cover for the battle with the fake Masters
of Evil looked like X-men #100.

The issue where Atlas fought the growing man opened with a scene of the
Bolts in their scivvies planning their day off in front of Rockerfeller
Center (like All-new, All-diff X-men #97, Xmas issue).

Songbird's costume is reminiscent of Phoenix's.

I'm sure more will come to me, but Busiek/Badgely are definitely paying
homage!

good one.

thought of another: the T-bolts annual was reminiscent of Giant Size
X-men #1 (not that thousands of others haven't copied that cover already).

Am I the only one who thinks Marvel's art is somewhat unstable? E.G.
Last year's terrible annuals, this year's so-so annuals, last year's
and some of this year's specials and limited series... particular
examples... : Magneto the limited series made me feel distinctly ill!
And "Tales from the Marvel Universe" which had a good T-Bolts part,
but the F.F. fallout part with Nathaniel Richards.. ugggh!!!

Need I even mention Scott Bachalo...!

I hope I am doing this right, but I am not sure if this will be
posted, so if it is someone let me know? If it works, Ill show up more
here... The battle with the fake masters of evil cover also looked
kinda like FF #374; an issue of Amazing where Spidey joined this lame
knockout team called the Outlaws and like a zillion other titles who
have put teams similar against each other.. though more recent, I
think the New FF and Old FF cover of FF #374 is the most similar of
them but it too I am sure is based on something old...

And totally unrelated, I worry about the Lobdell FF alot for all your
reasons and a few others, but I am also not keen on the drawings of
Sue by davis I have seen... I would totally cringe however if Bachalo
came over, because everytime I see his artwork from Gen X to the
recent issue of Uncanny I cringe already! Ugggh... course I also dont
like Davis or Pacheco all that much... now picture a Deodato f.f or a
Luke Ross F.F. or even a Madeuira FF now we are getting somewhere...
then again just bring back Ryan and Defalco!!!!! And Galactus for a
real not cheesy story like the #12s!
