In the Initiative, Doom took a gratuitous potshot at Taskmaster, and
hit easily. How is it that the guy with mutant reflexes the equal of
Captain America's, *couldn't get his shield up in time*?
In the Thor comic, it was a relief to find that Doom actually had a
viable plan for dealing with Thor after picking a fight with the rest
of Asgard. But it was awfully tiring to see those damn Doombots
standing in for the real thing as usual. If only the Legions of
Asgard had someone who could tell the difference. Like, oh, I don't
know... *Heimdall the god of vision*?
Plus, these are HARD WIRED Doombots, with thick cables running to their
feet.

I don't know about that outside of Thor how many Ashgarians have met/
dealt with Robots? Someone/something attacks you is Your first thought
"I must check if he/she/it is alive or not" before you defend
yourself?

Lots, since the Rigellian Recorder robot (a recurring Thor character)
has made numerous visits to Asgard going back all the way to Thor #156
(in which he was greeted by yes, Heimdal, who could definitely tell he
wasn't normal).
Ooo, good point.

Specifically regarding the Doombot that tossed the Asgardian(*) off
the wall, I figured that Doom calculated that the brutality of that
action would enrage Thor into striking the Doombot (which is what Doom
wanted). Heimdall may have noticed that it was a Doombot, but Thor was
probably moving too fast and anyway, how could they have known that
the strike benefited Doom? Doombots represent a threat in and of
themselves and removing one from the battle is usually a good thing.

Rewind...
(Doombot) Go away and leave Doom alone. (throws Asgardian off wall)
(Thor) Enough... (builds up a thundercloud)
(Heimdall) Thor! Yon being is but a golem, hooked to strange machine
within yon castle!
(Thor) Enough! (changes course, smashes through three walls and
strange machine)
(Real Dr. Doom) Dammit...
