Several of those descendants actually came from the future anyway.

There is already a New Krypton in the 21st...and, most of the time,
they say Superman and Lois can't have kids so he probably won't have
any unless it's after she's gone...Supergirl is possible though.
I'll admit, somehow so far the Speed Force seems to breed true. Don't
ask me how, since the Speed Force isn't genetic.

In real life over 1000 years, practically everyone who has successful
children becomes everyone's ancestor anyway, at least within any
landmass where people move around and occasionally break taboos on
breeding. For us, that means (for instance) we're probably mostly
descended from King William the Conqueror of England. For the 31st
Century, that means a good fraction of the United Planets is descended
from Flashes. Now, why doesn't everyone in the UP have Flash powers,
or Superman powers, or whatever?
There's a fatal flaw in your logic: There isn't a female Flash. If there's
one, she could reproduce at the speed of light.

However the sensitivity or ability to process it could be genetic.

Jesse Quick/Liberty Belle is a female speedster (and was actually the
Flash for about 15 minutes)...XS of the Legion is a female speedster
(and Barry's granddaughter)...and, until recently, there was the
former Lady Flash chick who had turned evil and just died in Flash
Rebirth.

Well, I don't know about your family, but mine doesn't follow such a
strict breeding program...plus Flash is kind of a high risk profession
so there is nothing to say that many of them wouldn't die before
having any kids...that said, if they all age the way barry's and
wally's progeny have, it's wouldn't take them 1000 years to populate
world...they're like bunnies, man.

As far as we know currently, humans and Kryptonians can't breed (but,
you're right, that could change)...Power Girl and Superboy-Prime (who
isn't even in this reality currently) aren't true Kryptonians (at
least not of this reality) so they may or may not be able to breed
with Kryptonians of this reality...and, given all the other
Kryptonians that are bound to be breeding themselves, I doubt
Superman's and Supergirl's contributions to the gene-pool would be all
that substantial in the grand scheme of things.

First, she'd have to find a man she doesn't want to throw through a wall
when she finds out he's interested.
Been over thirty years now, and the world is still waiting...

Apparently she hooked up with Hawkman during the missing year...but
all we ever got was a single panel referencing it...I keep thinking it
should come up at some point but apparently not.
Aggggh!!! You're right... brain bleach got that horrible memory out of my
head. Until now, thanks a lot... :)

Seriously though, I wonder if there was actually supposed to be some
follow up to that and Johns just ran out of time in JSA? Or maybe
that was Meltzer's contribution to the Lightning Saga and Johns never
wanted to touch it? Personally, I would have much rather seen that
play out than all the Roy/Kendra bullshit in JLA.
She made the move by kissing him, but he rejected her. So there was no
"hook up." Thank Rao! ;)
We don't know how it played out or how far it went...all we got was an
image of them kissing and the impression that it ultimately didn't
work out because he'll always be into Hawkgirl.
Nahh......his body language in that panel, IIRC, was not very welcoming.
Don't burst my bubble--the mental image of them together is too disturbing!
And most Americans would be King of England!
We don't know what happens to Kryptonian powers as their DNA is
diluted through intermarriage with standard humans over the centuries.
Some descendents might inherit one or more powers, at Kryptonian
levels or less, and some might inherit no powers. Some traits might be
dominant and some recessive, and some might depend on the human gene
they're matched up with.
Same with the Flash - and in this case powers might depend on some
sort of trigger, like getting hit by lightning, at least in some cases.
There was an Elseworlds story that dealt specifically with that issue
once upon a time...I believe it was one of the Elseworlds annuals by
John Byrne and it had a Kryptonian coming to earth much earlier and
interbreeding with humans...Kal-El was one of his descendants and had
far less power because the bloodline was diluted...of course, that
isn't in canon though.
>Same with the Flash - and in this case powers might depend on some
>sort of trigger, like getting hit by lightning, at least in some cases.
In some cases it has been genetic...Barry's descendants and Wally's
kids were all born with powers.
Anyone recall the proliferation of the meta-gene that gave Snapper
Carr and others their rather convenient powers? It seemed that a
certain percentage of humans had it and all it took was some form of
stress to make it manifest. That's probably the same situation with
the Flashes, except that Barry and Wally aren't related by blood so
the nature of their meta-gene is extremely coincidental.
