WOW! It's that time of year where BMR asks a semi-coherent question.
Almost certainly, but I expect it'll be in some boring manner that
isn't any fun.

I don't know the backstory, but Shazam wants control over all the
powers that ever got issued in his name.
> Also will we ever see the return of Captain Marvel Bunny?
I'd pay money for a Captain Marvel Bunny mini-series where he gets a
Green Lantern ring, helps clean up Arkham Asylum, gets declared the
fertility icon of the New Gods, and becomes the red-sun champion of
New Krypton.

You mean, like Black Adam?
Do you mean like Black Adam?

That's why he added the last two questions, so that he wouldn't
accidentally be sensible.
I'd consider him to be an evil counterpart to Captain Marvel.
Michael
I think there's a suggestion of an evil counterpart to the wizard in the
recent JSA/POS storyline. That story features the Rock of Finality, a
dark mirror of the Rock of Eternity, and ends with a mysterious figure
declaring that Adam and Isis will become his champions.

People say nothing rhymes with orange, but it doesn't.
That storyline also has the resurrected Shazam almost acting like his
own evil counterpart...so a seperate character may not be necessary.

Of course they will get the powers back...just as soon as they decide
to try a Captain Marvel book again...if not sooner.
Freddy got his powers back through a different source so we'll just
have to see how that plays out.
The bunny should stay gone...and so should the Legion of Super
Pets...but given the current obssession with Silver Age characters and
concepts, I'm sure they'll be back just like Krypto.

Does Lucifer count? He created the villain IBAC from
the spirits of the supposed most evil men of history.
(I)van the Terrible, the power of Terror
Cesare (B)orgia, Cunning,
(A)ttila the Hun, Fierceness
(C)aligula, Cruelty

...It's a fluke. Some sort of fallout from the Ruskies botching an
SLBM test a couple of days ago. Either that, or someone forced him to
start injecting his prozac instead of swallowing it, and at 3x his
previous dosage.
Either way, the retarded little bastard's staying in Killfile Hell
where he belongs...

...Beppo and Titano FTW!!!
Might need a good counterpart to the new guy who has BA and Isis as his
champions and Shazam himself.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I love Captain Marvel Bunny (another
dimension not just an alternate universe).
I would definitely pay for an ongoing series. It gives the DC more depth
than Marvel that there is sucha broad spread of weirdness - from Lucifer
Morningstar to Captain Carrot. It also is amusing that the Marvels are so
serious in the DCU, but that the gods are also linked to a funny animal
world. It shakes up your perception of reality.
Michael Wood
I think DC can only take credit for all that depth if they'll admit it
all in the same universe. Usually the DC Universe and the Vertigo
comics are ashamed to be seen with each other. At least in the Marvel
Universe, there are quite a few people who have teamed up with both
Daimon Hellstrom and Howard the Duck.

The Marvels being so serious in the DCU, is more a problem with the
portrayal of the Marvels than a challenge to reality.
I don't usually like to say "Hear, Hear!" in a response, but...
The original Marvel Family was a light, funny series. Marvel Bunny fitted
right in. (And I haven't seen him for about sixty years <sob>)

For the last half-decade or so, it seems the wizard has become his own
"evil counterpart"...

I think that Mary and Billy should only come back when the editorial
staff changes to a group more sane and respectful. I am relatively
hopeful that their absence will allow people to forget the Black Mary,
Countdown and Infinite Crisis storylines so that they are never referred
to again.
