Ellison hasn't been reading Greg Rucka's 'TEC or Jeph Loeb's The Long Halloween or
Dark Victory has he? Still, an Ellison written Batman is a thing to look forward
to.

Indeed! I still have my copy of the last Bat-story he wrote, from around
1985 or so!

"Absolutely the worst night of my life, Alfred!"

Heck, even Gotham Knights has had detective elements to it.

That it is. Could be even better news then Miller's return.

Hopefully he can insert some of his sterling commentary about how Star Trek
fucked him over or that Kyle Rayner is an idiot into the story. That would
literally sell the issue itself.

Apparently not (I had the same misgivings about his comment).

It's been a while, yeah.

No, his new schtick is to whine about who should get various sf writing and
dramatic awards (see his first 2 'Working without a Net' commentaries on
Galaxy Online), or about the death of the written word, or about how we're
all idiots.

He still is one of the very few writers whos name will sell me a magazine, a
comic book, a short story collection, a novel, or just about anything else.
He's that good.

Obviously Ellison hasn't been checking out Greg Ruka's recent work on
Detective. What a blow hard.

No, they wouldn't. I said would sell ME a book. I don't know what criterion
you use, but only a very select group of authors can sell me a book by their
name alone. Mr. Ellison is one of them. For my money, he's the best living
writer of short fiction alive today.

that's right, Omar burned that issue...
