Last week's book was LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES (VII) 10

This Dominator Rescue story line must be longer than normal for Levitz,
because nothing really happens here, except to set up future chapters.
Cosmic Boy (!) breaks into the Dominator Embassy on Earth to try and find
some evidence. No luck. Mon-el appeals to the UP Council. No luck there.
With official sanction denied, Star Boy (who officially quit last issue)
takes his own team to rescue Dream Girl and Brainiac 5. The team includes
Duplicate Damsel and Bouncing Boy two brand new Academy students introduced
here, and Academy retread Comet Queen. Meanwhile the captives have their
hands full just surviving. Dream Girl prophesizes that help is coming, but
one of the rescuers will betray them. I'm guessing Comet Queen
unintentionally does that. Of the other five on the team, I don't expect it
of the new introductions, and can't see any of the old veterans doing it. It
is also revealed that the Dominators have classified the Legionnaires in
terms of danger to them. Dream Girl is at the bottom of their list. Boy,
are they going to regret that.

1864. LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES VOLUME 1: HOSTILE WORLD trade paperback.

In keeping with the New 52, here's the first seven issues of the current
series, including covers without logos and such. Also included are a few
pages of Jim Lee costume designs, confirming my feeling that he should stay
far, far away from the Legion, and some reproductions of Simonson's pencils
for the issue he drew. A nice package, but only slightly less expensive
than buying the original issues at the $15 price point. Is the collected
package worth it to you? Only you can decide.

1865. STAR TREK/LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES hardcover.

The mini-series is collected! It's a really nice package, with all the
alternate covers included. Enough said. Buy it!

One side note: the book itself included one of the Jimenez covers and logo
on the book itself, but the slip cover had no logos and what I felt was the
worst of the alternate covers, the Giffen one. With five better alternate
covers to choose from, you went with that one? Sheesh!

Now, a preview of Previews. DC must be having disappointing sales, so for a
Big Event, they are having a Zero Month in September. The ongoing series
are all having a zero issue. It's not even an organic thing like the last
time. Legion Lost 0 will give a new (and probably revised origin to Timber
Wolf. LSH 0 focuses on "Brainiac's Original Sin" What did B5 do as a
child that warrants that title. Special art by Scott Kolins. In October,
Legion: Secret Origin comes out in Trade Paperback format. Nothing else of
note there.

Until next time,
