So, here's the deal: over the past 5 years, I have read 5 or 6 of Tony
Hillerman's mysteries, but I don't remember for sure which ones -- I
guess senility is setting in, but not quite fast enough that I'd enjoy
re-reading the ones I have read. So I figure there are thousands of
you out there, some of whom might actually admit to have read one or
more of these books, and even a few who might remember a detail or
two. It's not quite summaries I am looking for -- it's bits, slices,
events, and especially names and locations that would serve best to
jog my memory about whether I'd read that one or not.

Here's an example:

The Ghostway [c 1984]
Hosteen Joseph Joe, in the Shiprock Wash-O-Mat parking lot;
stranger drives up and asks him about Leroy Gorman; Al Gorman
arrives and the driver shoots him ... later we find he was
taken to his uncle Hosteen Ashie Begay's hogan. Begay's Niece
Margaret Billy Sosi. Turkey clan, L.A. connection -- car theft
ring. A polaroid became a postcard. FBI Witness Protection
Program. Vaggan the big blond survivalist mercenary. An
Airstream trailer in Shiprock. Grayson. "The Ghostway" is
used to cleanse Margaret Billy Sosi of the chindi from the
death hogan.

Here are the titles of the rest of Hillerman's mysteries:

The Blessing Way
Coyote Waits
Dance Hall of the Dead
The Dark Wind
The Fly on the Wall
Listening Woman
People of Darkness
Skinwalkers
Talking God
A Thief of Time

Any takers? I will post a summary of these "summaries" (a
meta-summary?) once I've collected the whole set.
