Five favorite books....

I'm 39, a communication arts instructor at a Northern California Community
College.

1. The Prince of Tides (the BOOK not the rape of the book by Barbara S.), Pat
Conroy
2. Breakfast of Champions, Kurt Vonnegut (with Slaughterhouse Five a close
second).
3. Slouching Towards Bethleham, Joan Didion
4. A Collection of Short Stories by Ursula LeGuinn that included "The Ones
Who Walk Away from the Omelas," and I really liked her Left Hand of
Darkness
5. The Tao of Pooh, (or on some days I'd answer Zen and the Art of Motorcycle
Maintenance, by Robert Pirsig)

Tomorrow the list would probably be differnent, and include some Asimov,
Heinlien, Chaim Potock...

But ALWAYS Didion and Vonnegut. (Sometimes when I'm slumming I"d put Hunter
Thompson on the list....)
