Who is the real hero of the play "Julius Caesar"?

Shakespeare's
"Julius Caesar" is a tragic play. There are four main characters in
the play. They are Caesar, Brutus, Cassius and Mark Antony. This play
is full of bloodshed, but it is an interesting story. There is an
argument about this story. The argument is "Who is the real hero in
the play? "
Let's take a look at the play. Who is the real hero of
this play? I would probably say "Brutus". Brutus is one of the main
characters in this play. He has all the qualifications to be the hero
of the play. He is one of the noblest men in Roman history. Brutus has
many qualities that we must appreciate. Brutus is honorable. Many
people like his character, because of his strong personality. This
story builds around him.
Brutus has many good qualities. He
is honest, charming and he is very thoughtful. He trusts people's good
not the bad side. He is noble and he loves his wife very much. He is
not a cunning person as Cassius. He always wants to be a great Roman.
He thinks that his country is more valuable than his life. He doesn't
have children, but he treats his little servant as his son. As an
example Brutus allows his servant to sleep in the midnight, when he is
awakened. When he joins the conspiracy, he gets the leadership and
plans the conspiracy. He is the backbone of the conspiracy. When he
decides how to kill Caesar, he decides to kill Caesar gently, not as a
good butcher. Brutus is a very close friend of Julius Caesar. Brutus
takes the risk by killing Julius Caesar, who is going to be the king
of Rome. Brutus kills Caesar, because he thinks that his country is
more valuable than his country. Brutus kills his best friend for the
good of the country. Brutus is a respectful man and he is open. When
Cassius takes bribes from the poor, Brutus scolds to Cassius and he
says that he doesn't appreciate Cassius's activity. Finally Brutus
dies at the end of the play. Usually the tragic hero dies at the end
of the play.
There are many
arguments about the hero in the play "Julius Caesar". Some people say
that Julius Caesar is the tragic hero of the play, but they are wrong.
The hero cannot die at the middle of the play. On the other hand
Julius Caesar has many weaknesses too. He is too proud of him self and
he is not a great leader, but he is considered to be a great leader,
because he brings many captives to Rome. I believe a great leader
should have a great personality. Many people say that Julius Caesar
has a great personality, but it is not true. If he had a great
personality, how can he get killed by some conspirators? If he is a
great ruler, how can he have so many rivals in the country? So
definitely he can not be the hero of the play. Let's take Mark Antony.
People say that Mark Antony is the real hero, because he is cute and
he is a good speaker. But remember he appears rarely in the play. The
hero should be a person who appears throughout the story. So Mark
Antony can not be the hero. According to my second argument, the other
characters such as Cassius, Calpurnia and soothsayer can not be
heroes, because they don't appear much in the play.
Let's get back to our main
topic. Brutus is the real hero of the story. He is the noblest roman
in the roman history. Mark Antony makes an important speech about
Brutus in the Brutus's funeral.
This was the noblest Roman of them all.
All the conspirators save only he
Did that they did in envy of great Caesar;
He only, in a general honest thought
And common good to all, made one of them.
His life was gentle, and the elements
So mix'd in him, that Nature might stand up
And say to all the world, "This was a man!"

Brutus is noble and he works for the
common good. He is gentle, charming and wise. He is a good leader and
he loves his country and he loves his wife too. He is the real hero of
the play and he will remain in the hearts of the people in the world
as a great hero and a gentleman. Brutus, thou art the greatest Roman
in Roman history! Thou art immortal!

Julius, of course. Just read his lines, what a terrific manager he was.

He is Shakespeare's most convincing hero. Not for what he does -
his victories are only alluded to - but for his attitude.

Is there a rule that a play must have a hero? Brutus is the main
character in the play, but that does not make him a hero. He is a
traitor and in the end no one honors a traitor. He is a tragic
character deluded into thinking that he could stop the course of change
in Rome, and persuaded so by Cassius playing the role of fifth business.
But a hero? No.

"All the conspirators save only he
Did that they did in envy of great Caesar"

In these words Antony, hardly neutral, damns the motives of all but
the safely dead Brutus.

If it's a play about a "hero" at all, it's a play about a hero past
his prime (JC) and the power struggle among lesser figures that
follows when his sense of his own godlike stature proves mistaken.

Yes, Shakespeare so very brilliantly and deftly dramatises your point.
The man who wiped out all Rome's enemies, who did the most to expand
Rome's influence, was brutally murdered in the heart of Rome, by his
own childhood friends. Brutus could have been his own son.
