Minister of Gandalf

At the traditional carnival party of the political society of Bavaria,
Markus Söder, the Bavarian Minister for Environment, showed up as
Gandalf. A rather good Gandalf, I must add. (Well, apart from the dead
weasel he seems to have wrapped around the staff for some reason.)

That's the first member of a state government I see dressed up as a
LotR character. That's got to count for something. I think.

With a bit of makeup, his wife could make a rather good Galadriel.

Indeed. And given that the costumes seem to be film-based,
Galadriel's green hue would go particularly well with the minister's
portfolio.

Yes. It indicates that there is at least one pollertishan in the world
who at least on one occasion in history has shown some sense. Hooda
