Here are some quotes from RoTK about what happened to Elrond's children
in the Fourth Age. As this has been answered before, I might suggest
it be added to the FAQ so we don't have to go through this again.

(Aragorn):"...the choice must soon be laid on your children, to part
with you or with Middle-earth."
'"Truly," said Elrond.
Bal. RotK 423

I think this makes it clear that all his children have a choice to
make. I also claim this demonstrates that they were to make their
decision at the time of his departure, but there may be a better quote
somewhere to support this.

"But after the passing of Galadriel in a few years Celeborn grew weary
of his realm and went to Imladris to dwell with the sons of Elrond."
Bal. RotK 468

This may seem a little confusing to some, so here's an explanation:
Galadriel left in the same ship with Elrond. Celeborn did not go with
her; he stayed to rule Lorien. The fact that he lived with Elladan
and Elrohir after Elrond left leads me to conclude that the sons of
Elrond chose mortality.

The only thing that troubles me is why Arwen never looked for her
brothers after Aragorn died. She went to Lorien, but Celeborn had
already left. Perhaps Elladan and Elrohir were dead already.

Another possibility is that sons of Elrond chose immortality, but departed
later than his father - entriely possible, given the example of Celeborn.
Maybe they took the same ship, Celeborn and them? :-)
