I have no idea if anyone out there has an interest in revisiting the
original culture and discussion as the project unfolded (or in
exploring it for the first time), but I figured I'd share.
I still have nebulous visions of a "History of the E-text" page (which
might work best as a wiki, come to think of it, with sections for
"author's notes", "cabal's comments", and "notes from the gallery" or
something of the sort; sadly, my web host doesn't really make that
possible). But boy, do I not have the time to do it just now. Still,
having the original threads handy is a start (and it could make
further projects easier).
Side note: I still want to know if anyone has ever tried to explicitly
figure out how exactly the Two Watchers were positioned, halfway
through my Book IV Chapter 4 (The Pugilist). I rather doubt it. I
may have overdone it, but I was trying to follow the lead of Mark
Twain when he wrote about a "Petrified Man". (I based my description
on Twain's recollections of writing the article, since I didn't have
access to the original at the time.) Apparently, nobody took the time
to think through Twain's description, either.
