THE ARMADA by Garrett Mattingly (Professor at Columbia University),
1959, Houghton Mifflin, stated first edition, a very good+ copy in a
very good+ dust jacket (price clipped, small edge tear on rear dj, same
to edge of spine). Clean, bright and tight - very nice. The story of the
sinking of the Spanish Fleet by the British (and some bad weather).
WINSTON CHURCHILL AND HIS INNER CIRCLE by John Colville (Winston
Churchill's private secretary), 1981, Simon & Schuster, first edition,
287 pages, a very good copy in a very good dust jacket (crease on inner
flap of rear of dj, light edge wear to dj, remainder stamp on bottom
edge of pages. A clean, bright and tight copy of this memoir of
Churchill's secretary in the 1940's and 1950s.
A RUSSIAN PRINCESS REMEMBERS: THE JOURNEY FROM TSARS TO GLASNOST by
Ekaterina Meshcherskaya, 1988, Doubleday, first edition (stated), 228

WILLIAM THE SILENT by Nina Brown Baker, 1947, Vanguard, 271 pages, a
very good copy (hinge a little loose) in a very good dust jacket (price
clipped, light edge wear, lightly chipped). A clean & bright copy. A
young person's biography of the liberator of the Netherlands from the
hands of the Spanish.
CIVILIZATION ON TRIAL by Arnold Toynbee, 1948, Oxford University Press,
263 pages, a very good copy in a good dust jacket (moderate edge wear,
small tears and chips, moderate shelf wear). Interior is clean
throughout. A series of papers on the condition of our civilization by
the famous historian. He also examines the role of the historian in
analyzing the present state of affairs.
THE GERMANIC PEOPLE: THEIR ORIGIN, EXPANSION & CULTURE by Francis Owen
(University of Alberta), 1990, Dorset Press, 317 pages, a very good copy
(previous owners inscription on ffep) in a near fine dust jacket. There
is no price on the dust jacket but there is no indication of book club
status - and no blind stamp. ISBN 0-88029-579-1
RUSSIA TRANSFORMED: BREAKTHROUGH TO HOPE by James H. Billington, 1992,
The Free Press, first edition, 202 pages, a near fine copy in a near
fine dj, clean bright and tight. James Billington is the Librarian of
Congress and a noted Russian scholar. This book documents the failed
coup of 1991 and the revolutionary events that followed. Billington was
in Russia when these events took place.

THE ROTHSCHILDS: A FAMILY PORTRAIT by Frederic Morton, 1962, Curtis

(shelf wear, protective Mylar cover over dj). A very nice copy of this
history of the great financiers of Europe.
