reproduced from the Coverdale Bible. Type Goudy Thirty monotype.
Paper machine made. Bound in red cloth with black cloth back,
illustration in black on front cover and title in gold on back.
424 copies printed by Lawton and Alfred Kennedy. [Note: the present
copy contains a leaf from the first chapters of "The Prophet Jeremy,"
with a large introductory woodcut and a small chapter initial woodcut,
ONE OF ONLY 54 COPIES containing an original leaf having one or more
illustrations!]

The fragment of the rare Coverdale Bible used for this leaf book came
from the Huntington Library. The Introduction provides a full account
of the first complete printed edition of the English translation of the
Bible, a masterpiece of prose and a milestone in the sequence of
English language Bibles. The census was prepared by John Howell-Books.

81 illustrations. It is quarterbound in fine Morocccan leather (with a
leather title piece inlaid on the front cover) over brown cloth boards
by Craig Jensen of Booklab and encased in a cloth slipcase to match the
rounded spine of the book. The volume, which measures 8 3/4 x 11 inches,
is signed by David Holman (designer & printer) and Craig Jensen (binder).
Types are Palatino and Trajanus."

AS NEW text and binding, FINE dust jacket (minor tears to top and bottom
edges), in a thin plastic dustwrap, in a cardboard slipcase. The
finest overall copy of this Cresset/Curwen Press title I have ever
encountered. Copy # 274 of only 350 copies printed on paper.

Colophon: "This edition of THE SHEPHEARDS CALENDAR has been printed on
Barcham Green handmade paper, with three copies on Roman
vellum. The text has been composed in sixteen-point
Linotype Granjon Old Face (used here for the first time)
and the preliminary pages and glossaries in the fourteen-
point size. This type face, so-named in compliment to
Robert Granjon, the great French typecutter and printer
of the sixteenth century, was designed by George W. Jones,
the printer of this book, at "the Sign of the Dolphin,"
London. The illustrations by Mr. John Nash have been
coloured in the stencil process by the Curwen Press, London."

on Monadnock Caress in 1971 for Barre Publishers. Bound by A. Horowitz
& Son. Signed by author on colophon, PLUS personal inscription from
author on half-title. Includes an ORIGINAL ETCHING pulled from the
copper plate by Andersen and Lamb. (Etching is of the 1943-43 Widgeon
Duck Stamp by A. Lassell Ripley).

An illustrated history of the Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp. Each stamp
from 1934-1972 is covered, with a full reproduction of the artwork,
the resulting stamp, design info, artist info, and philatelic details
(engravers, plate #s, colors, etc.).

with an accompanying essay--"Wordsworth and the Spiritual in Poetry"--
which Mr. King wrote while a student at London's Central School of Art
and Design.

Printed on an Albion press in 1991. Set in 14 and 18 point Monotype
Centaur series 252. Copy # 10 of only 15 copies printed on 200 gsm
Lana gravure. Bound by Angela Thompson in quarter-leather and rose &
brown marbled boards.
