Sorry, I'm not the least bit interested in trading my precious books for
someone else's children. I think there might be laws against it anyhow...
and what would the exchange rate be - x amount of kids per book or x amount
of books per kid... how would one be sure one is getting a bargain or even a
fair go?

Check out the swappingtons web site. It is a swap site for books and such.
I have had quite a few positive trades/swaps from it.
