This was a category on "Jeopardy" a while back. Here's a list or two:

Trouble is, often they're not that contradictory - or even proverbs.
Just popular sayings with little wisdom, such as "opposites attract."
Sure they do - briefly. Sort of like static electricity.
But they're fun!
And, of course, many are based on "Aesop's Fables."
