We (my 6-year-old daughter, my wife, and I) are re-reading Stuart Little
(which is a thrill for me--it's one of my favorites and after we read it
about a year ago she started to lose interest near the end and I was very
sad--I thought it might be the last time we read it together).

Anyway!...

Does anyone know where the name "Lillian B. Womrath" comes from? It's the
name of the other model boat Stuart races against on the "Wasp" in the
Central Park pond.

I can find almost no references to this on the web, with perhaps the exception
of a mention in a newgroup posting of a scale model store called "Womraths" in
Hempstead, Long Island back in the late 60s/early 70s.

Thanks!

Why not write to Peter Neumeyer, author of THE ANNOTATED CHARLOTTE'S
WEB, in care of the book's publisher, HarperCollins ?
