Still have had no luck finding this book. Hope no one minds if I
repost.

If it helps jog anyone's memory I had a nibble from someone who
thought they had a lead in a quote which may be from the book I am
looking for:

The lead turned out to be a dead end, but the quote may or may not be

I think this must be it (she had all but the spelling):

. Melissarto, Kira Wee Fishie Wun
New York Cupples & Leon 1945 John V. Schwarzman. First edition.

This is from ABE ( http://whipper.abebooks.com/abep/BookSearch , looked up "wee
fishy," no luck, and then tried "wee fishie").

Hay i know what book u are talking about i have the book its called Wee fishie Wun. By Kira Melissarto illustrated by john V. Schwarzman. copyright in 1945 its and hardback! I was trying to sell it!!
