A freind in Paris asked me if I rmemebered a book (or some books) for
children, featuring a witch with faulty broom? Apparently it refuses
to fly sometimes, dumbs her off, etc. Anyone know the name and author
for any such?
My news server is a bit flaky, so would appreciate any response by
mail as well as to group...

One of Pratchett's Discworld series had that happen, tho it was just
part of a long novel for all ages.

Alan:
There are probably a number of books fitting this description. The one
that I know is "The Witches Broom," (fitting title), by Chris Van
Allsburg.

There is a Chris Van Allsburg book about a broom which is abandoned by
a witch after it dumps her on the ground. The broom is adopted by a
local woman. I believe it's called "The Witch's Broom" or something
equally obvious.
