Some people describe it as a "flash of pain..." We don't hear
much else.
Does anyone know if people have fainted because of the pain...?

i was surprised that it hurt so little. guess i was expecting a lot of
pain since its in that oh so sensitive area.. :) lots of bleeding over
the first few days but that was dealable. pain was really minimal in my
opinion. my nipple hurt 20x more. tho that's just one guy and his
specific pain thresholds.. in general tho from what i have read and
heard the pa is not that painful of a piercing..
like them all its a flash of pain and its all over with.. no aching, no
hours or agony.. heheheeh... just blood and that wonderful burning
sensation during urination for the first few days... heheheheehhh..
greatest piercing i have ever given myself...

>Well, it is less painful than the nipples. And it heals faster.
Hmm., It was just the opposite for me. But still worth it. And I also had
no pain using the restroom.

...
Well... it hurt a little less than my nipples (and I only had to go
through one PA piercing, of course) and the healing was very fast. Look,
it >does< hurt, but it's quick -- the anticipation is worse than the actual
event. Anyone can 'take it.' And the healing, like I said, is relatively
easy... like 9 days to 3 weeks. The bottom line is, if you're sure you
want it, don't let fear of the pain stop you.

I suppose its obvious when you think about it, but I was given the
valuable advice to avoid alcohol and illicit drugs and drink lots of
water both before having a PA and while it is healing. Not only can
these toxins irritate the penile tissue which may make the piercing
more uncomfortable than it could be (I think I am remembering this
right, please correct me if I`m wrong) but it will help give you
cleaner (less stingy) urine.

The pierce was quick, and what discomfort there was surprisingly
minimal (a bit like quickly tearing of a small sticking plaster I
suppose). However, the high I got afterward was amazing and the
feeling of a PA ring rubbing the inside of the urethra is unbelievable.
I`ve had my PA now for about a year and stretched up on a number of
occasions, it leads little attention and pretty much looks after
itself. I would recommend that anyone considering having a PA bites
the bullet and goes for it.
I'd have to agree with the others.. the needle (10g in my case) wasn't
that bad, less painful than my 16g septum pierce in fact. What _hurt_ was the
2g receiving tube they catheterized me with. However, not all piercers
use the tube so you may not have to worry. Good luck, it's worth it!

Well Ed, I did mine myself.
(I know... I know... that drives the pros crazy, but this was before I
lived in a big city and had any resources. I know better now so PLEASE NO
FLAMES) :\
Anyway... I did'nt faint. I actually didn't bleed either.
(That's another one that surprised me. Okay...maybe a drop or two.)
It stung off and on for about six hours afterwards. Then really nothing.
It takes about a month for *any* and *all* discomfort to go away. It's
WELL worth the wait.
I LOVE it!
It's been about a year and I waiting on a Gauntlet backorder for a 14k
gold ring! (That's my X-mas gift to myself. Precious things for precious
things...right?)
Go for it!! Really.

Not really, I have pierced both my nipples, 2 Hafadas, my PA. and my AMP. I did it my self
without help from a piercer.
Go ahead and get that PA- it is a good choice- the pain is small and it usually heals fast.
I had some discomfort the first 10 days during urination. The first morning pee can sting a
bit. Soon the fun starts... when you start to play with that ring... :-)
Good luck,

Geeeeesh!! The request was for a pain comparison......just so happens that
a nipple pierce is one of the more painful......and that a PA is one of
the least painful....Why do people think that EVERY pierce in the genital
area must have to be painful by definition.
Happy Holidays all !!

Did it hurt? If it didn't I wouldn't have paid for it.
on of my freinds even sez getting his nipple pierced hurt more than
getting his above the urethra ampallang, and another freind sez his
nipple hurt more than getting his apa (however you spell the rest of
thes)davrya done. it all depends. for me personally my nipple was
painful, but no where near as painful as my daith, my amp, or even my
pre-lobe facial piercinging thingy. so once again we have proven that
pain is subjective, and it all depends on the person. *grin*

Actually I found it less painful than just about any other pierce except the
frenum (I don't count the ear lobe - piece of cake (-; ). A sharp sting for a
fraction of a second when the needle went through, then little or no pain. The
nipples were much more painful.

If so, do you think it helped?
Life's painful enough ... so if I can avoid a bit of it it
would seem a good idea.

No. And the pain was (for me) very minor, along the lines of an innoculation.
Felt a little cheated. :) My earring hurt worse.
