Uncut ampallang? Any advice?

Greetings fellow RAB readers...
I am considering an ampallang piercing to keep my 4ga PA company, but I
am uncircumcised, this was not a problem with the PA, bit I have heard
bad things about performing and looking after an ampallang on an
uncircumcised man. Rejection, scarring, swelling, infections, you name
it. What I need to know is basically if this is actually possible to do,
and if it stands any likelihood of healing properly? Anyone with any
experience of this? If the general consensus is that it's not likely to
work out, can anyone suggest another interesting genital piercing for
someone like me?

Cheers,

Russ :-)~

In the case of my PA the foreskin completely covered the PA CBR
naturally - no problem.

The initial extra-long (for swelling) Ampellang barbell prevented the
foreskin from assuming it's normal position, and the tip of the foreskin
continually pressed/rested against the BB shaft, and got pinched between
the ball and the glans. As a result two points on the foreskin developed
pressure sores - very painful for the foreskin, and the piercing! After
10 days (when I finally had a handle on the swelling) I changed the BB
(to the shorter, correct permanent size), and coaxed the foreskin over
this BB so that the foreskin could take up it's normal position.
All jewelry was then hidden inside the foreskin when flaccid - but the
Ampallang BB was usually at an angle which could have resulted in
eventual migration. You may get away with this if your foreskin is loose
enough to accommodate the barbell - I did for 2 months until my
circumcision (without any obvious migration or scarring, but it was a
real hassle having to adjust the BB and foreskin).
Unless your foreskin never reaches the site of a genital barbell
piercing, or unless you can keep your foreskin retracted 100% of the
time, you may have a similar experience with either an Ampalling (or
Apadravya).

Also a warning about a PA/Frenum combination. The movement possible with
an intact foreskin means that there is a chance that the flesh tunnel
from a frenum piercing may impact on the PA CBR - I eventually abandoned
my frenum after a month of continual pain.

The above problems are very anatomy dependent. Your anatomy may allow
placement which results in little or no problems - be realistic when you
evaluate your options/anatomy/placement/jewelry.

I am uncut and I have both an ampallang and a deep reverse PA. My advice is to
work with your piercer as follows:

1. Get the ampallang in the best possible spot with no consideration of the
foreskin.

2. Select jewelry which will not pinch the glans when you are erect and will
allow the foreskin
to cover it when you are flaccid. In a word, compromise.

3. Clean yourself fastidiously but not excessively during the healing.

4. Consider getting your foreskin pierced once the ampallang is healed.

Hope this helps.

Cheers guys, might just go for it.
What, in your experience, is the typical healing time? I'm single right
now so I don't really need to worry too much about having it healed
enough to have sex, but I gather it can take up to six months???

And I thought that I was gently discouraging you! 8^)

My estimated healing times ...
a. After a week or two some cautious and gentle self experimentation
should be possible (avoid irritating/stressing the piercing at first).
b. Acceptable healing at about 8-10 weeks (epithelial layer complete)
c. Full healing at 12-16 weeks (hole relaxed/stretched/toughened,
rounded entry/exit holes).

He absolutely is right. If there is a secret, then this is it. As short
as is comfortably possible, as early as possible.

As always, YMMV.

OK - the general advice seems to be a shortish BB whilst wearing your
foreskin forwards.

This is one possible solution, but it does *significantly* increase the
chances of migration and rejection. Far better in the ideal situation
is to wear your foreskin back all the time.

However, you should be aware that if you have very tight foreskin tissue
this does lead to the possibility of paraphamosis, where the tight
foreskin acts like a "valve", allowing fluids forward to the glans but
not back leading to a reddening and swelling of the glans - not very
pleasant.

If you do have quite a tight foreskin, then wearing it just up to the BB
usually works fine - I believe one other poster had problems with this
method - we are all different, but most people find that solution fine
(in my experience).

However, it should be mentioned that it's all a lot easier if you're
cut! - Maybe you should consider that first???

Anyway, with a bit of effort and commitment from you, the piercing can
be healed up perfectly well in either state, but the percentage risks
are influenced a little.

Good luck watever you decide...
