I currently have a PA with an 8 gauge, 3/4" circular barbell. I have an
extra 4 gauge, 3/4" circular barbell and I would really like to stretch from
the 8 to the 4 without intermediate rings. Does anyone have any
recommmendations besides a taper? Or possibly how to make a homemade taper?
I'm just fairly low on money right now and I can't really invest in a taper.

Thanks,
Josh

knitting needle.
look at a conversion chart (or just compare to the cbb) to get the right
size.

remember to lube well and be patient for that large a jump.

Maybe consider adding weight to your 8 gauge for a few weeks before
jumping to the 4 gauge. I jumped from a 10 to a 6 in my vertical hood
piercing and had never felt that kind of pain before - it sucked - your
jump is going to be much more severe, good luck!

Do you have any smaller (larger gauge) jewelry? My boyfriend had great success
inserting *additional* smaller jewelry which over time stretched the piercing
to the desired size. I tried to skip a gauge (10 to 6) and came to know an
unimaginable pain. Good luck.

Your mileage may vary, but you might be better off going from the 8 to a 6. The
weight of the PA should stretch you out pretty naturally -- i went from the
initial 10ga 3/4" to a 6ga in about, oh 4 months, then to 4ga and 2ga in about
1-1/2 months each. I was gonna try to go straight to 0 from 4, but i figured i'd
save myself some unnecessary discomfort -- my 2ga slipped in the first time with
no pushing, no taper, and a bit of spit for lube :P

While I have zero experience with PA's, I can tell you from experience
that the above method of stretching is a bad idea, at least for lobes
(and I would extrapolate to other pierces as well). I ended up with a
weird-shaped clover-leaf hole that didn't stretch evenly.

I know it's not what you wanted, but it sounds like it'd look kinda neat in
it's own right :)

i'd recommend the stretch from 8 to 6 as well. i stretched from 10 to 6 w/out
many problems, but when i stretched from 6 to 2, my penis was very sore and
swollen, and after two days, when i finally took the 2 ga circular barbell out,
my penis was full of pus. i had to go to the doctor and get a perscription for
antibiotics *and* i had to go back down to a 6 ga ring. then i had to wait for
a few months. then i stretched to a four gauge and later to a 2 without any
further complications. after 8 ga, the thickness of the ring increases
exponentially, as if you didn't know.

You've got a methodist coloring book, and
you color really well. But don't color outside
the lines, or God will send ya to hell.

not really. especially now that i'm letting it shrink down; it's
far more sphincter-like than the other ear that I stretched the
"right" way.

yeah, take your time.....you'd be really surprised at how fast your pa will
stretch, frenums on the other hand take a bit more time.

i went from a 14 to a 6 in my frenum in 3 months...almost no pain at all. i
only used a taper for 10 to 8 and 8 to 6, the rest went in with a little (slow)
shove.
