Cover-ups and problems in removing

forearms. It's going well and the 'normal' tattoos are fading fast. Two of
my forearm tattoos are cover-ups, however, and they are clearly going to
take much longer to remove completely. Speed of laser removal depends very
much upon the depth of the pigment and its' density. With cover-ups the
density is much greater because you effectively have two tattoos in one! The
skin blisters after each treatment and the blistering is more severe with
greater density of pigment. One of my blisters was the size of a small
bird's egg!
The tattoos on my forearms were done 38 years ago by poor artists & were
real junk - I'm elated that I'll soon be free of them. The treatment is
horrendously expensive (£275 per session) but well worth it for me. I just
regret having the cover-ups done. They were not good and after many years
have merged with the tattoos 'underneath' to look like black blodges. The
number of removal treatments will be far more because of the cover-ups and
hence far more expensive. Something worth considering when thinking about a
cover-up.

we like to THINK people here are bright enough to get a quality
piece of art the SECOND time around, if not the first.
but we LIKE to think a lot of things that aren't true. for
example, that humans are worth saving.
anyhow, keep rab updated about your sittings. take photos if you
can. i'd say we have less information/discussion here about laser removal
than we should, so bring it in.

I hear what you say but all of my tattoos were done between the age of 16
and 18 years when I joined the Navy - this was 38 - 40 years ago! At that
time there was no internet (in fact very few personal computers!). Navy lads
just popped into the nearest dockyard tattooist (usually when drunk!) and
picked a design off the wall. Yes I should have had more sense - but you
can't put old heads on young shoulders!

OK - I do have one photo already - taken two weeks after the second
session. I intend to take similar photos at a mid-point between each
session. How do I make them available for viewing?

there are free accounts everywhere. your net connection may come
with 20M or something somewhere, or you can try yahoo pictures, or xdrive
if that's still around, or ask froglet nicely & she'll probably host you.

oh, or alternately, offer photos on rab each time & just email
them to those interested. feel free to do that for me, actually.
