Some piercers do tongue piercings this way anyway as they tend to be a bit more
comfortable in small mouths. and if the piercing is done straight while the
tongue is stuck tstraight out, it sits at an angle when the mouth is closed
anyway. my tongue piercing also migrated back some because my mouth was to
small to accomodate the initial 1" barbell that was used

If it didn't hurt, then it probably wasn't worth doing

I have had my tongue pierced for about 3 weeks now. I wanted my
pierce back far enough so it wouldn't impair my speech so it was pierced
at an angle. I have had no trouble with it so far since it went to a
shorted barbell. It was getting caught on food and stuff but not I have
hematite balls and am very happy with it! Good Luck to you !!!

Well, that's just what he said. The barbell is at the most severe angle
of any I've seen, and it makes sense to me that dealing with it could be
a bit tough....

...But, we just got back from having it downsized, and there were zero
problems, so I guess we were both wrong. O well.

I've done a few slightly angled, to allow for the length of the frenulum,
when piercing to the side of the frenulum was not an option due to its
size and location of blood vessels. One took longer than average to
heal. The others, no problem, although they were not able to downsize as
far.

Most tongue piercing is done at some angle, as there is more surface area
on the top of the tongue than the bottom. I have 5 in my tongue, and on
the top side, they are in a very straight line, and on the bottom they are
in a cluster. The back two are on either side of the frenulum, and
neither bothers me at all. I have absolutely no impediment to my speech,
by the way. So, it depends on how much farther you want the top than the
bottom, but it is quite possible to get a decent angle. Make sure your
piercer is aware that the greater the angle, the more length is needed on
the barbell, as it takes in more tissue. Good luck. Elayne "Angel"
