My questions: How long should it take to stretch to the 2ga (just a rough
estimate)?
And once stretched to 2ga if I take the ring out for a while and the hole
shrinks back is it going to be as difficult to stretch back to 2 ga or will
it stretch easily?
Thanks in advance.

4 ga. to 2 ga. is almost always a difficult stretch, as the difference in
guage size really starts to change at this point (guage sizes are figured
out in a mathematical formula). 2 ga. to 0 ga. and 0 ga. to 00 ga. are
usually as difficult if not more so.
If my memory serves me, I waited about 6 months or so before deciding to
go to qa 2 ga. for the first time, although I don't know if doing it
sooner or later would have made much of a difference. It was kinda
difficult, as was stretching my nipples from 4 to 2 as well (I've since
gone back to 4 ga. there). If you can find someone to make a 3 ga.
ring/barbell the intermediate step would me alot easier.

I usually keep a 2 ga. captive bead ring in my PA, but on ocassion switch
to an 0 ga. barbell. Although the piercing has shrunk, the stretch back to
the larger guage isn't a problem (as it was for the initial stretch) and
the bar fits in easily.
