I remebered hearing that Devil(Mamono)Hunter Yoko would
eventually be offered on LaserDisc by AD Vision when I
was at Anime Expo. Can anyone tell me if this is still
true? I apologize if this has already been answered recently
or somewhere else.

One other thing. Is it just me, or does DHY just REEK of parody? Every
time I watch it, I keep thinking 'they MUST be trying to make fun of

Everything from Yohko's two fingered V and sheepish grin when she's
fighting the black queen to Madoka's entrance make me think that
this anime was done more out of A-ko worship than anything else.

According to Matt Greenfield, the Devil Hunter Yohko disc can be
expected in March. And, more importantly, it will be a CAV release!
He was *quite* happy at the prospect, and so am I. I'm afraid I
can't quote any price or precise date, but it *is* coming!
Oh, just a side note on how "Mamono Hunter Yohko" became "Devil
Hunter Yohko." Matt was saying that when they were buying the rights
to their first anime, the Japanese company wanted it renamed
Yohko, the Devil Hunter. Matt didn't care for that at all, as it
sounded way too much like "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer." He wanted
to keep the original title Mamono Hunter Yohko, so they ended up
compromising on the issue. Personally, I think the compromise was
probably the best solution, if only to keep a huge number of people
(non-otaku) asking "What the hell's a Mamono??" ^_^
Oh, btw, the Japanese release was in CLV, adding to my happiness
about Matt's choice. :-) :-)
Also, Devil Hunter Yohko 2 & 3, (as far as I know), is still expected
to be released sometime this spring on one tape. Sorry, but I
don't know dates, maybe you need to ask Kevin Winkler about that
issue (probably no absolutely firm date yet).
Matt has also mentioned that their is a Devil Hunter Yohko Final
"planned," but to him it sounds too much like the planned Sol
Bianca 3--He'll believe it when he sees it. :)
(Oh, sorry Matt and Kevin if I'm speaking out of turn, just thought
r.a.a. would be happy to hear. :)

Yes, the Devil Hunter Yohko LD will be coming out in March of 1994.
No price has benn set yet, but plans are for it to be CAV.
