I saw Sol Bianca for the very first time yetserday from
ADvision. I thought the anime was ok and that the subtitling
job was also ok, but something really bothered me.
It was the cursing. I had never seen so much cursing on the
TV screen before even from fan-subtilted works yet I knew that
what I was watching is public release. I can understand
translators' interpretation, etc etc, but geez, it was
pretty excessive. One that really stuck in my mind was
"no shit..." when a "really..." could have conveyed the
same message. (more accurately too, I think)
I personally don't care, but I am concerned it may totally
turn off a lot of people. From the language, I discerned
that you guys are of a younger lot and like to use trendy
langauage (15-25 range) and I could understand it, but a lot of other
folks won't. Also, a lot of the phrases used will become
outdated very quickly; I see a lot of the translations becoming
outdated in about 2-3 years such taht the video would no longer
be understandable! Well, just something to consider I hope...
If this has been brought up before, I apologize for wasting
bandwith.

They (ADV) seem to be moving into titles that are mainly of the "bouncy girl" or "love comedy" type.
